i don't know how is that possible, but i read that people use gt 5 to race online. now i'm asking: what's your country? here in italy i can't partecipate for any kind of online competition without having disconnection from server. and my internet connection works perfectly with everything else, including xbox live and psn games.. i tried every settings possible. so is Kaz aware of that?

Everyone knows the online component is a crap shoot due to peer to peer connections. Sucks real bad for you in Italy I guess. Some people don't have problem's though. A lot of people do.

I am in italy too and race with mainly UK guys. I get the od problems, and more so recently after the first update. If you want to add me on PSN and talk on mic, I can help you with your router set up as that is what your likely problems are?

Check your NAT setting. If it's on 3, that may be your problem. Google for instructions on how to change to 2 (it involves port mapping and giving your ps3 a fixed ip)

this is the source of many problems. fixed ip/port forwarding will not fix it if your ISP does not provide you with a public IP. it does not have to be a static public ip - dynamic is fine.

joining fixed host rooms is the only way to get a good experience if you're being double natted (nat 3) and i'd encourage more people to use fixed host if they are hosting and have a decent connection.

edit: if you want to know whether or not you have a public or private ip, go into your router and look at the IP address your ISP gives your device (if it starts with 10.x.x.x. or 192.x.x.x its definately private) then go to whatsmyip.org and compare, if they are the same you have public.. if not, you have private.

I have no problems whatsoever, and I play in European server quite often actually. s
