How come I win cars but they don't show up in my garage?

I hope this isn't a stupid question...

So I'm playing GT5, and I win cars and it shows the car drive up with the black background, but the car doesn't show up in my garage? Wth? What's going on? I don't get it. The last GT game I played was GT2 a long time ago and it was so easy, you win a car it goes to your garage. Simple, and it's not so slow either. Is there something I'm missing by Polyphony? I just don't get it. Can anyone explain to me? I mean, the only car that I won that showed up in my garage was a Toyota FT-86. Why aren't cars showing up in my garage?
 
Look under the standard cars tab located on the side when you enter your garage.

Yep.

If you didn't know, OP, there's 2 types of cars in GT5: standards (not that great looking, no interior view) and premiums (look beautiful, have interior view).

Most prize cars are standards. If you want a list of prize cars, look at the stickies under "GT series>Gran Turismo 5". S=Standard P=Premium.
