I'm just curious as to how some of you found out about GTPlanet.net...

I found out about it on July 23rd by going to GT3.com(I think Tom also found us this way), and the owner USED to have a link for GTPlanet...

So, how did you find us...?:D

Exact same way. Looking for info on GT3, so tried GT3.com, saw the link and the rest is history:D

yep that's right Josh, I too clicked www.GT3.com and found a very nice guy's website that linked me directly here. After about a month of just looking at the outside, I joined the forum.:D
Unfortunately, somebody sent a nasty e-mail to that person, and he removed the link to our fair community. (and rightfully so, the message was vile)

Yeah, what a shame that people would send him e-mails like that just because his site doesn't have anything to do with a GAME!:(

Oh well...:(

I'll probably shoot him an e-mail tonight or in a few days thanking him for having the link up for as long as he did...

Good Idea

I sent a short e-mail to him thanking him for having it up a while back. I never mentioned this site's name...

I just said I'm a member at a popular GT3 site that you used to have a link to...

Told him I completely understand why he took it down, and that I respected his decision, etc...

Searching for GT3 information. I had come accross GTPlanet.net a couple of times before I actually started reading it's information as well I believe I typed www.gt3.com and found the link here.

Alright, here's my dirty little secret (not my only one, but it's all you're getting right now...): I found GTPlanet only after the other big GT forum wouldn't let me join. Why wouldn't they? Because I have a Hotmail address for my e-mail. I asked them why it wouldn't process my information, and they said free e-mail addy's were too often used by troublemakers. (Thanks for pre-judging me, jackasses! They're over-moderated anyway...) This was just a bit before GT3 came out, and desperate for ANY info, I went to www.gt3.com and followed his link to this great set of forums. I just went to gt3.com to check those e-mails. How stupid...

I was searching on google.com for GT3 and came upon GT3.com, i didnt know there was a GT3.com and like others i saw the gtplanet link and i was in. I didnt post until i actually got my PS2 2weeks after getting GT3, on the day it came out no less.

wow, it seems i am not alone... I kinda found this place by accident going through gt3.com... It seems that guy is kinda pissed off too.... Basicly yelling at someone to buy his web site...

Wondering if jordan considered it, but figured "he has the link already, it seems to be working, so screw it."

If he wants to sell the site, he should take the links off...

It seems I am one of a few who didn't use GT3.com. I in fact used a search engine (I think), and this was there so I came here. I cant remember if I tried anywhere else.

I believe I did the same..
Just visited gt3.com today again to refresh my memory.. dude sounds like a friendly guy now doesn't he? HAH

I found this place when Gtplanet wasnt even gtplanet.
I was a community member on MSN and being a member and owner of a cheesy website I searched the MSN community page and banners and upon scrolling down the banners discovered gt2 forums.
I was into the game heavily and joined due to the fact that the game was a part of my life.
Upon joining the gt2 forums, I met a ton of the nicest ppl you would ever want to meet. Jordan, Talentless, Phil, and many others come to mind.
I was a post whore on gt2 and then Jordan came up with the idea of GTPlanet.net and Ive been a member ever since.
Jordan has been one of my biggest helps in the computing world and if it wasnt for his undying help and resources, I wouldnt have the knowledge of what I know now. Thanks Jordan for all the help and Im glad to be a part of this community and to be able to contribute in the few ways that I can.
Ive seen this gt site go from a small MSN based community to a full blown super site full of the most competitive racers Ive seen.
I remember coming into the gt2 site full of vinegar and pomp and even remember my opening line on my first post.
"I am an expert on all tracks and challenge everyone here" was my statement and found out there were ppl better than me,I was humbled very quickly.
This has been a great place to hang out and will continu so as long as everyone can put up with me. Too bad I dont have the time I used to.
Thanks again Jordan.

Yes, you're one of the founding members, Misnblu. :) Without the people such as yourself and those mentioned above (remember Fangio?), who were willing to take a chance and contribute to a tiny new community nearly two years ago, none of this would have been possible. Thank you!

Found it through the Board vs Board race. I am a GT by the Numbers guy, but since this race came about I have discovered many other boards. Was at GTF when I was running GT2, but went back there with GT3 and didn't really care for it.

Welcome. Hope you like it here. ;)

Just tried searching the Web for sites on GT3 and stumbled across Planet. Been posting here ever since. Keep up the good work Jordan and co.:)

Welcome to GTPlanet! It's always great to see people from other forums here! :)

I am also from the old MSN community and where is Fangio ?
Fangio is here, but he is lurking deep in the shadows. His last (and only) post on the GTP Forums can be found here. I've emailed him several times, but he doesn't reply.
