Hello everybody..

I just purchased the playseat big brake pedal for my G27 steering wheel.. But when i drive with manual gears, and i brake, the clutch put the gerabox into neutral, and i cant shift my gears until i realease it again..

Does anyone know how to deactivate the clutch, or do i have to disassemble the pedal box and cut a wire? Thinkin there must be another way??

Mike..

Just don't press the clutch at the start of the race and it's deactivated. What you say about going to N while pressing the clutch is normal though. Thats the way GT5 handels the clutch. I don't know if I understand your point correctly, but you should never disengage your drivetrain during braking, only when you shift.

I understand he has some kind of different brake pedal, a wider one perhaps that is why he is pressing the clutch while breaking. Can't you deaktivate buttons on the setting on your computer? Have you installed the software that came with the wheel, Kelse?

Just don't press it, flick the paddle and the clutch is disabled until you press it again.

As Flaco says, i have installed a brake pedal to mount on both break and clutch pedal:

I use it for Gt5 granturismo on ps.. I have search a bit on the internet for answers, but cant find any information for it.. I doubt that im the first with this problem..

There is software with the device..

And did you install the software on your computer? I'm guessing there are settings to deactivate the very button for your clutch works, I can't look at it myself because my laptop died couple days ago, but you should give it a try

sorry I misread, NO software? Where did you buy the wheel???
Look if you can download, its called: Logitech Gaming Software V5.10

could be likely a newer version available

Even if there was software there's no internal memory on the wheel, so if you were to disable the clutch with the software (which you can't do btw) it wouldn't matter once you plugged it in your PS3.

As you've got such a pedal, there's no option but to take the pedal box apart and cut the wire going in to the clutch. I hope you can do it in a way which would enable you to reconnect it later, since racing with a clutch and gearstick is the best thing you can do with this wheel.

You can probably use your wheel with any game that allows you to map your controls in detail. In other words, you won't be able to play GT5 with this setup.

Also, trying to remap the controls on a computer will have no affect for when you play on your PS3.

OK8

There is memory on the wheel, but truth is GT5 software disables wheel settings. Its like you said it has no effect when playing gt5. You must look for a mechanical solution. off watching the game, lol. wish you luck kelse

If your comfortable with taking the base apart, do so then unplug the wires on the pod for the clutch (mark them as to where they go) then wrap each one with electrical tape to keep them for shorting against anything. I did this when I removed my clutch pedal from my G25. Also tape them to the base so the movement of pedals will not cut them!

Thank you all, for your comments.. I'll cut the wire.. Just did'nt wanna do it till i was sure i did'nt miss a setting somewhere.. ;) They should put a notice on the box for the pedal.. I would have purchased the spring solution instead.. Let this be a warning for others then.. Buy the spring if you dont wanna cut the wires in the pedal box.. :)

Anyway.. Thanks again..

Don't cut any wires! You'll miss your clutch if you move up to better racing sims! Just unplugging them will work fine.

Don't cut the wire as they plug into the pods and are very easy to reconnect if you ever want to.

Next time buy regular pedals and problem solved...Don´t buy those kind of pedals if you are not planning to use it.

If you turn the big selector switch on the shifter over to the left, that will disengage the clutch.

And which switch would you be talking about (Oh the one on a G25 wheel)
