I can't see any files i add to my SD Card or USB Flash Memory. Including Pictures in JPG format e.t.c.

@ Kekke2000 you need to press triangle and then this will give you some options, you need to use the show all option then you will see the contents on the drive.

oh thanks mate! and i've been running around here with my SD hundred times

Talk about being retarded, I had a mp4 MGS4 HD (720p that wasn't actually 720p or HD) video that wasn't working on my PC because my PC sucks. So, it sat there on my HDD for like weeks, and I never thought to put it on my PS3.

So, I remember the PS3 can play mp4 videos, and put it on there. Looked fantastic, even though it wasn't 720p or HD.

I've seen the quality of the jpg's also improve on the PS3 👍

Well I know this thread is for music, but ive found a simple way of getting the quicktime movie trailers from your Mac/PC to your PS3, its quick and simple (provided you have Quicktime Pro).

1) Select the video you want to convert. Seeing as im using QT pro, ive saved the movies at 1080p so they play at this resolution on my 1080p tv via the PS3.

2) Make sure you have the video window that you want to convert selected.

3) Go to File/Export... this will load up the options for you to play with, but seeing as the QT files are already MP4, there is not much point in rencoding them.

4) Now with the options for exporting open you will need to select "Movie to MPEG-4" from the Export drop down.

5) Now that you have selected "Movie to MPEG-4" click the options menu at the side, this will bring up the vital options for fine tuning the export, and like I said above since the QT files is basiclay a MP4 file the exporting of it is very fast (around 4/6 seconds on my I-Mac). Choose the same options from in the pic below, this will bypass any re-encoding that would normally take place, and ensure the best quality of the video.

6) Now all that is left is Audio, select the same settings as shown below. This will ensure the best audio too.

7) Save all settings and Expot the file to chosen location, this will export and be ready for transfer to the PS3 via some sort of storage device (I used an I-pod Mini that was windows formated, as mac formated does not work) once files are on your PS3 they will play like any other movie file, and will have a snazzy little clip from the movie as the icon on the XMB.

All setting above worked fine for me, all files were downloaded from the Apple trailers site and converted on an I-mac using QT pro. good luck.

P.S. If any PC/Mac users have any free software ideas that will do the same please post for all to enjoy trailers and other movies on thier PS3's.

That's really cool, but I don't have QuickTime at all. Too much spyware that slows my PC to a crawl.

Thanks, Sprite! I was wondering how easy it would be to make that conversion. What with the new QT Transformers trailer and all.

As you pointed out, the H.264 codec is what they're using anyway.. is it possible to simply rename the file from .MOV to .MP4? Or is there some header info that the MP4 file has?

its got like you said a header of some sorts so just changeing the extension dosnt work, or at least it didnt for me, but with a fast enough pc/mac it converts in a very speedy manner. Ive just done the new Bourne film, and Harry potter trailers, plus a few others from gametrailers.
