I'm a n00b.

I can get drifts started and go through corners well enough but when the exit comes i cannot straighten the car at all. I have tried braking, accelerating, and different angles of countersteer but no matter what i do i cannot get the car's back end to swing back in opposition to the angle of the corner, and end up hitting the inside wall.

What do i do?
(i am using a Rx7 RZ stock with sim tyres.)

If you end up hitting the inside wall means you're loosing too much speed while the car is sideways.
Try making a low angle drift, that will make the exits easy to handle without loosing much speed while drifting.
After that increase your angle, try firstly small corners, and then long corners.
Remember that the practice will make you a good drifter.
I almost forget: Wellcome to the forum, enjoy your stay, and remember to use the search button.

I hope this helps.

i agree with everything Sheron said, i used to have the same problem. try letting off the gas and counter steering when trying to end a drift, this helped me and it might help you too.

Thanks guys! actually i just figured out what the problem was after reading cudaman's FAQ. I had my steering wheel set to simulation, which limits the amount you can countersteer for some strange reason. Now countersteering actually has a reasonable effect.

Thanks!

well id say if you hit the outside wall thans your speed is too fast. if you hit the inside your now too slow. the secret is to give it enough gas to stay on the track. just think of and ideal angle and line than just do what you always do and follow the plan. lata

Press the gaz out and countersteer. It will not understeer because it's a turbo...And if you exit your drift with high angle, your exit speed will be faster.

So just because it has a turbo is doesn't understeer? What about superchargers? Do they understeer? Or what about rotories and trubo rotories?

Thanks for all the advice but as i said in post 4 of this thread i already figured out what the problem was: simulation steering assist. I am now drifting like a pro (sorta.)

I dare you to put sterring assist on simulation (logitech wheel) and try drifting. You cannot countersteer.

i'll have to disagree with that...

you can't accelerate faster going sideways than going straight.

haha i tried to say that but there were some people saying full throttle so i was like ohwell

it depends....

going full throttle or "tapping the gas" at the EXIT depends on how you ENTER THE TURN.

come on now people WAKE UP!
