How do I get my son online so he can race against people?

Forgive me for likely missing something obvious but I'm a busy dad (still working through this virus thing). I tried signing up through id.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com four times now. Each time I'm told they've sent me a verification e-mail but one never arrives. I even tried two different e-mails. Is there another way to sign up for online racing (Gran Turismo Sport, Playstation)? Am I even going about it the right way? Thanks for any help.
 
Are the mail adresses outlook addresses? If yes try a different provider.

Alternatively you could make a sub-account of yours for your child
