How do i play online?

i just started playing this game like 2 days ago. and i barely played it....how can i go online and challege people? i don't see that option at all. btw i've only been using the PS3 for 2 days too lol.. this is the only current gen console i have, last one was a ps2....finally got one after 6 years lol so late...hello ps4....:dunce:
 
go to the "open lobby" icon at the top of the home screen :)
 
Its just to the left of A-spec, To make it easier to find something that suits you, Turn the countries option to "ALL"

Try to avoid rooms with 2 or less connection bars.

-Create a PSN account
-When your account is created sign in
-Access the game
-Download the game updates if necessary (It can last up to 3 hours)
-When you're in the Home screen (the one where you can see the GTAuto, Driver licenses, etc.) at the top left of that screen there's a white-blue-red icon that says open lobby, enter there
-Choose any server on the list (As with rosckolove said, don't try to avoid rooms with 2 or less bars, AVOID THEM)
-Race clean and have fun 👍

If it's your first time online, I'd recommend looking for clean Shuffle rooms. Most rooms will say "Normal Race" in blue letters on the right before you enter, just look for rooms that have "Shuffle Race" in yellow letters. Shuffle races automatically chooses a car for you so you won't have to worry about finding & tuning cars for every race. Only enter rooms that say Clean or Fair drivers, you'll get a better experience that way, & avoid room with SRF & Boost set to on. Also, read The Good Racecraft Guide in my sig if you wanna race like a gentlemen, if not, just look for "Dirty" Shuffle rooms instead.

thanks. i was watching valdude's videos and i'm definitely looking for clean races, they look more fun and require more skills.

Yes, his videos are quite good. You're right, clean racing is the way to go, so much more rewarding. All the best, & welcome to GT Planet! :D

amazing how much GT1 has improved lol. i remember playing GT1, which imo is still the best GT game since it was so fun. the tuning and the dealerships music was just awesome. i didn't like GT2 or GT3 so much because they seemed slow to me and they were not as fun. GT4 brought back the fun and now GT5 is a great mix of fun + realism.

i still think that crash team racing on the psx is the best racing game ever :sly:
