How do I share cars in GT5

I'm trying to share cars in GT5 but for some reason it's not working. Anyone got a step by step guide to sharing cars?

So far what I do is go to car property and turn sharing on. Then when I go to my garage I can see those cars I shared in the online tab but my friends still can't have access to them. Am I missing something? One more thing do I need to be online to be able to share cars. I tried both online and offline but friends can't find my cars.

If I can get this working I will share my 5 Stealth cars.

I think you can't share Stealth's, sorry.

To share a car you hover over it in garage click triangle and click 'share with friends'. But yeah I don't think you can share stealths.
