How do I turn BOP off in GT7?

I've added some Praiano tunes to my cars and go to enter Arcade races on tracks and it forces BOP and removes my tune, reducing the cars to stock.
How do I get past this? Or is the only option to run Custom Races? Bit of a pain to set up every time...
I'm sure I could do Arcade races in GTS and still use my tunes....

I asked this same question but got no replies...

Interesting that you say you couldn't turn it off in a Custom Race. I'm pretty sure I was using my tuned car when I did a custom race yesterday. My issue is more with the Arcade races. I always found Arcade a quick easy way of having a bash at GTS. And I like the way it let you change car and/or track easily without exiting to main menu. A bit clumsy in GT7 how one first needs to select the car, and then go to the track and choose Arcade mode.

I am so confused by this. Was running some custom races tonight.
  • In some of the races with some cars, when I started off and checked car settings, I was able to see and use my Praiano tunes - no problem.
  • In some of the races with some cars (such as the Grp 3 RSR Porsche), when I started off and checked car settings, I saw the yellow/black BOP and scale logo and the car settings were reverted to stock BUT if I wanted to I could go through and edit all of them. I couldn't be bothered doing it; time consuming enough to add each tune to cars as once-offs, let alone having to do it before running a single custom race.
What on earth is going on? Can anyone explain what determines whether BOP is active or not, and how to disable it, get around it etc. I ended up doing time trials but I'd really like to be able to race my tuned cars against other cars in custom races?

I thought BOP was meant for evening things out in Sport/online mode. Why is it even a thing in Arcade mode?

Yea they need to fix this asap I have not found anyway around this. Hopefully in this next update they will address it!

But do we even know that its a "problem" and not just a hidden setting or rationale for why its doing what its doing?

Found this thread after doing a search. It pisses me off that you can’t race an Arcade race with the car tuned how you want, who gives a flying Fig Newton if a player wants to play a local game exactly how they choose to? I paid too much for this game to keep getting cock blocked by some nerd.
Ps Rant over and I feel better, I might go to Pandora and delete Psychos for a while instead.

This continues to annoy me too. It seems to happen "randomly" (but I'm sure it is not actually random). I too enjoy doing quick 3 lap Arcade races to test out new car/track combos. Most of the time, it does seem to allow me to use my Praiano tunes but not always. I've noticed that BOP is forced more often for cars that are 700PP+ , and almost always with circa 729PP cars. I experimented around a bit and tried pushing the PP up from 699PP to just over 700PP and it still let me use the tune. I got bored of experimenting so I still don't understand exactly where the cut-off is, or if indeed it is related to the PP level.
Regardless, its highly annoying to not even understand why its happening and to have to check before every single race whether my tune is allowed. Of course once can circumvent this relatively easily by setting up a custom race which does have the option to disable BOP, but its a bit of extra hassle that shouldn't be necessary.
If anyone knows more, please feed back.

I've tried in arcade races as well ,it just doesn’t work BUT if you just play custom game its without the BoP

For my Gr.4 Custom Races, I tune the Gr.4 cars to their BOP. Theres a BOP list somewhere in the forum, but I just picked a Gr.4 race(like High Speed Ring chilli event) and checked the BOP setting for the cars I’m using. All good to run my Gr.4 spec AMG GT Rs.

If you're using custom tunes, why even play arcade when you could just set up custom races?
