I know how to quote a post from a thread in a post that I write in the same thread
but how can I quote a post from a different thread to the one Im in
eg... someone asked a question and I wanted to reply but quoting a post from a different thread and cudnt figure out how to do it ??

You would have to do that manually. Copy the text from the post in the other thread, then wrap it in the
tag. You might also want to include a link to the other post, for clarity. You can do this easily, but using the link on each post (up to the right hand side of the post, where it says the number of the post).
 
so I can just copy and paste - ok
I cant seem to find the number of the post ?? Spose it wud be quite useful to quote a link to a post but wheres the number ?? I remember seeing the number of each post somewhere b4 but I cant find it now ??

Are you using GTP Lite? Otherwise I'm not aware of any way to deactivate that link.
 
It's a matter of taste. Turn on the Default style, and see if you get the post links.

However, just use whichever style you prefer.
 
Well I changed it to default and as if by magic the post numbers appeared !! I prefer the default style as well !!!!
