i'm a noob (yes, i know, i know, i'm a big fat b***h. gt3 has been out for 2 years now) isn't the mini cooper purchasable? i spent half an hour looking and still can't find it. if it isn't, what would be a good starter car and best second car under $50k? and is the Mercedes-Benz CLK55 worth buying?

no it's not buyable....best second car under 50k....probably the SVT Cobra R....Or some nissan..i'd go for the cobra R....great all around car for alot of the AB class stuff....and don't buy the Merc till later in the game, it's not that great of a car.

Get the AE86 and have some sideways fun. :D

To go cheap and fast, the Mustang and the Camaro SS(outfitted with less than $40K) can win many beginner races, and quite a few Amateur races.

AO

I vote for the skyline. It was my 2nd car and got me through a lot of the amatuer races. :D

ive always been a big fan of the 3000gt. thats what i buy for my second car every time

Since I didn't see anyone answer you. The Mini Cooper is the prize car for the Lightweight Championship in Beginner league, and is also one of the prize cars for the European championship in Amateur league.

Hi, and welcome to GTPlanet, AP1. Please don't swear... but I'll add to what Mr. Chaos said: in races where there is a single prize, you will only ever get one copy of that car. You cannot win it again. In races where there are multiple prizes, you will win a car every time you win the championship.

Do a search for "save and reload" to learn how to get the car you want. Good luck! And I'll second Der Alta's suggestion of the Camaro or Mustang. Cheap and fast!

You can win the Mini in the lightweight cup in beginner mode if you actually wanted it. Welcome to GTP as well.

1. Skylines (at least the ones worth having [R34s]) are over 50K last time I checked.
2. The CLK55 got last in PD cup in every race, competing with a R390 Road Car, Jag XKR, Camaro SS, Mustang SVT, and Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32). In my opinion, its a freaking horrible car.

R33s and R32s are still quite good cars though...;) Just because they don't get over 1000hp doesn't mean they're ****.

Well, in a word, no... and yes.

It's not worth buying as a car to use competitively anywhere but in the Silver Arrow cup. The Silver Arrow can be won in a modified SLK roadster, which is probably a little cheaper. HOWEVER, the prize for Beginner Silver Arrow is another SLK, and there is no reason to have two of the things. So I would buy the CLK55 when the time comes to run the Silver Arrow, and win the SLK with it. That gives you more variety of cars.

Show some style Duke :D The Silver Arrow cup should be done in nothing less than a slighty modded CL600 :trouble:
