How do you burn .iso's?

I have an .iso I'd like to burn and the requirement is to burn it at a slow rate of speed so the image on it will load properly. I burned about 4 DVD's in the past day and they still don't work. I use Nero 6 to burn but I don't know how to burn DVD's at all. Would some one mind helping me on how to burn this .iso? It needs to be done at the slowest speed / setting possible and it has to be able to boot as a bootable disc. Thanks,

-Matt.

Yeah, under "Properties" it lets me set the speed for CD's so I'd imagine it would do the same for DVDs. 👍

I'm not going to use that. I have Nero 6 and I don't think I need that at all. Nero 6 worked fine for me so far, I don't want to change it.

Any other ways that I can burn this .iso in Nero 6 and have it burn at the slowest speed it could?

Yes. You just launch the "Burn Image to Disc" option with Nero, but set it to open in Nero Burning Rom instead of Nero Express. It gives you more customization options.

Yes. The Nero burning ROM is better and I dont know why, it just is.

A good way to test it is have another compter that is running and then just try it on the other one without re-booting yours.

Another thing you can do is load the .ISO into Daemon tools, and just copy the virtual CD as you would any other CD.

I have nero express 6 and when i want to burn a iso to a dvd i just do this:
Nero startsmart => At the top of the window select DVD => tabpage copy and backup
=> burn image to disc => then select the iso file to burn in the file dialog

Then on the following window you can pick a writing speed

it's as simple as that.

LOL I know why I didn't know how to control the speed...

The DVD burner in my sisters laptop didn't have a setting that let you control it.

I'm buying a DVD burner this week most likely so I should be able to burn right after I get it :)

/Close if you want to mod.

This is sort of relevant to the thread's topic so I'll just ask it here:

I have an ISO thats around 2 gigs. I have no DVD burner and I still wish to save it on a CD(or 3) for later and get it off my computer. Is there any way to split the file up into pieces for reassembly on another computer?

Just be sure to buy the right kind of dvd burner.
Would be stupid if you have DVD+Rs laying at home, while you have a DVD-R burner :)
(Or just buy one that can burn both)
I got some free dvds from family once, because they bought the wrong ones and didn't understand why they couldn't burn dvds

An easy method would be splitting it up in pieces with winrar for example and just copy the pieces to multiple cd's. If you want to use the iso, just copy all the pieces from the cds and extract them.

I don't know another way, but maybe someone else does.
