How do you choose to paint your cars?

I do "series," if that makes any sense. For instance I have my Lotuses (Loti?) painted in sky-blue/ice-blue colors, as close as humanly possible to the same shade. I'm doing a snow-white/black-rimmed setup on all my Ferraris and my old/new GTOs are black as death. It may be an OCD thing but I hardly ever choose the color the showroom recommends and often use chips to match up makes/models.

How do you choose what colors you paint your cars? I mean aside from just trying to chrome everything...

I've slowly come to the realization that ALL my cars must be black. I've owned 4 cars IRL, all black, all my drift cars in GT5, are black with bright rims...

I usually try to stay as close as possible to their real life counterparts, unless it's a really boring color. I just painted my '98 Audi S4 nogaro blue, which I didn't think the game had, until I saw the S3 with it.

I paint bone stock cars white, lightly modified cars matte dark green, fully modded matte black and RM cars yellow.
I only put Chrome on classic cars like Shelby Cobra, Art Morrison Corvette,...

There really isn't a method to my madness, other than I try not to be repetitive. I also tend to choose brighter colors (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange). I'm not a big fan of chrome/matte paint. In real life, I'm very conservative with my cars (Silver[x3!], white[x3!], dark blue, dark green, black) and I'll probably never do any exterior modifications. In the game I get a little adventurous with Lime Green and Aero Kits.

Still, none of that pink, purple, gold, etc. for me! (except the 'Cuda--but it was already purple!)

The purple 'Cuda isn't so bad, because it's dark and two-toned with black. (I'm not even sure if you can paint it anyways.)

The LFA is really where you want to go if you want to get a very bold color. I bought it in Lime Green even though I think the LFA looks better painted white [ironic?]. I've been meaning to use one of my white paint chips on it, but too lazy. :)

The color I think is very close to this one, only different car obviously. I guess it's okay in small doses :)

Ha, I have a few cars like this; a matte black Mazda AZ-1 with Taiga Green Metallic wheels, a black Impreza STi Sedan with orange (the colour from the 70's Civic 1500) wheels, a black NC MX-5 with yellow (very bad choice) and... Actually, that might be it. Oh no, wait, a Samba Bus painted in the Lotus Carlton's extra extra extra dark green with Reflex Purple wheels, which is awesome.

Otherwise I paint all my Hondas Championship White, I have at least one of every Evo in Scotia White (even makes the X look fast), I have every RM car and they cover the whole spectrum (plus dark silver and silver chrome) and apart from that I tend to either mimic well-known colours (my Enzo is the colour of Schumacher's FXX, for example) or just do crazy stuff.

I choose colors with my eyes closed :)..just randomly go up/down a few times and use the color it lands on..should be fun
