I like buttons if I am not using my wheels. Since they are pressure sensitive its good way since its comfortable for me.

I used to be 100% buttons, then I ran into a game that only supported the sticks (NFS prostreet) and had to learn how to use them. Have to say they're far more accurate than the buttons when you get used to them.

R2 - Gas
L2 - Brake
Left stick - Steering
Right stick - Shifting

Brilliant.

Since the first gt with sticks, with the sticks. But this is when i'm not using the dfp for gtp...

Back in those days i was 12 or so and i put it in my head that the stick is a wheel with sensitive movement. Since then no friend ever beat me in GT, and they all wanna drive it like me. I'm like 'the stickteacher' for the friends :dunce:

Oh I miss read the Question. :dunce:

I thought you mean Buttons or Trigger buttons..
Well early morning here ;) no wonder. :dopey:

Then To turn the car, I use both Triggers and Buttons. I feel comfy with both.

i use the sticks, i feel i get better control compared to the d-pad/buttons. i just got my dual shock 3 the other day, and the feedback is relatively better than the normal six axxis. i wanted to get the g25 wheel, but most stores here are out of stock for some odd reason.

I use the left stick for steering, L2 for brakes, R2 for throttle and shift up and down using square (up) and triangle (down).

Use RAS for Gas/Brake, and LAS for Steering.

Sometimes I steer with LAS, and use X and Square for accelerating and braking, since as it was said, they are pressure sensitive.

Just got used to RAS cause I wored out two of my old DualShock2 controlers on X button, from runing Nurb for too long :sly:

I use the sticks too. Never ever tried the buttons - though i know they are pressure sensitive..

The sticks remind me of my Radio-Controlled Airplanes in former days...

Analogue sticks not quite all the way, I use them now, for both Accel and Brakes. I started using analogue sticks about one year after I got GT4, which I got on the release day in europe! considering I was only 10, I was already obsessed with the GT series, having played GT1 when I was just 5! Then I went all the way though and have played most GT games ever made.

I use the buttons, I really like the pressure sensitivity. I can hold the throttle or brake at any position I want using them, I just find the sticks too sensitive and the dead spot in the middle is too big. I've heard some of these things have been changed in the DS3 so it may change when I get one.

But I also plan on buying a new wheel, might get the proper GT5 one when it becomes available.

sticks for me, with buttons im not as precise as with the sticks, i started using sticks since i first played GT since it required a lot more feeling that the average arcade games

I use L2 & R2 to break and accelerate, the left analogue pad to steer and the right analogue pad to change gear and look left/right.

Sticks. I wish there would be an option to turn off the steering 'help' thingie which makes the steering a bit sluggish with analogue sticks. I just don't like how the amount of turning depends on my speed.

stick for steering
R2 accelerate
L2 brake
^ shift up
[] shift down
R1 Handbrake
L1 lookback
O reverse

Tekken made me at home with using all triggers at once :D

Sticks all the way (before I switched to the wheel).

You have far more control with the sticks. Your range of movement with the buttons (length of button travel) just doesn't compare to the sticks. It might take some getting used to, but it's by far the best option, in my opinion.

;)

I use the buttons for throttle and brake and the left analog stick for steering. Has been that way for all of the GT games. I find the analog too fidgety for throttle/brake control, mostly because you have to do a lot more movement to switch from throttle to brake and because of the nature of the analog stick, its not very comfortable to do all the time, for me at least.

I set up my GT:HD controller options so you use the triggers for the pedals and right stick for changing gear, but I found my fingers used to slip off the buttons because for some stupid reason they're convex rather than concave, as a trigger should be, so i've gone back to the buttons or stick, depending on whether or not i need precise control over the throttle or brakes for a while, such as drifting, in which case i use the stick. Otherwise my 'foot' is 'flat' to the 'floor' so I use the buttons.
