Previously you could check a friend's profile and see that they were online. With this new format how do you tell if your friend is online? I used the previous way a lot since I have friends from all over the world in many different time zones.

I did read through the improvements but could not find this directly addressed. If there is an answer for this please direct me to the right place. If not please let me know how I can tell if my friends are online. Thank you.
 
Go to the main forum page. Under Users Online, it has "People you follow". If they're listed there, they're online. :)
 
Sounds like the easiest option. Jordan may (or may not) have a better solution.

On the plus side, doing it once now means you won't have to check their online status individually every time after; it'll show up on the main page, where TB said 👍
 
👍 Thank you both for the answers. Other than that I'm liking the new format. As with any change it takes a little to get used to new things.
 
You can also see the last time they interacted with the site in their pop-up member card and on their profile.

The old software simply declared someone as "online" if that time was within the past 30 minutes. I may integrate a more simple visual marker in the future.
