I was wondering if anybody knows the correct pronunciation of the following:

-Cote d'Azure
-Avant Grade
-Escudo
-Peugeot
-Esprit

Also does anyone know why Special Stage Route 5 and Route 11 have those numbers? And why Tokyo R246?

Does anybody have any other little details like that that they know? I'm just curious.
 
Cote d'Azure - Coat daz ur
-Avant Grade - av ont guard
-Escudo - es coo doe
-Peugeot - purr joe :rolleyes:
-Esprit - es pree
 
-Cote d'Azure = Coat-day-ah-zure (sewer)
-Avant Grade = Ah-vahnt Grand
-Escudo = eh-scude-oh
-Peugeot = pue-joe (but the j is like "jock custo")
-Esprit = eh-spirit

I always thought Cote d'Azure meant "The Blue Coast", I'm only guessing, though - I don't know a bit of French.

Côte d'Azur is French because it's the F1 track of Monaco. This is the famous state IN France, very close to the Italian border, but it's NOT Italian.

Côte d'Azur is actually the name of the coastline in that area, it's well known for the expensive houses, restaurants and shopping streets.

Côte = coast
Azur = blue, the shade of blue the sky has on a very warm, summers day
So it's actually coast of blue.

The direct translation of Cote is side or beside or alongside etc. it doesnt mean coast.

is the general consensus es-kyew-do as in q the letter like "cue ball" or es-koo-do like in "cool"?

sorry to be a pain in the ;) ss but i just was wondering.

Neither, imo. Es-ku-doe. Ku, as in the "u" sound in "you".
