If i'm in the middle of a race series can I save the game with a couple races left and then come back later to continue it?

I've saved and then went to exit and when I go back it starts at the begining again.

Any tips guys? I want to do this so I can save before the last race just incase I don't get the prize car I want so then I can go back and skip the last race and try to get the car I want again.

Thanks a lot guys.

Yes, but you can't start another series. If you do start a new series, you'll lose your progress.

This you can do. Before starting the last race, save your progress and make sure you'll are atleast 11 point away from the nr.2. Then start the last race, exit immediately and win the championship. If you don't win the car you want, load your game and you will start before the last race again. Continue doing this untill you win the car you want.

So after I save or don't like the car i got do I just turn the system off? And then how do i get back to my series after totaly exiting out of it?

Thanks again.

No dont turn the system off.
Just "back out" to the starting screen where you can pick Arcade, Simulation, etc. and choose the "load" option. Your game should start at the last save.
If it isn't doing that you may want to get a new memory card.
If you don't have the Sony brand, or one of its "approved" brands you might have issues with it not saving properly, or not wanting to load.

do not buy any memory card that Sony hasn't approved - they're almost certain to screw up. i've been lucky so far - i have Joytech (PSX) i got for $.99 and it hasn't jacked yet.
other than that, i only buy the ones Sony makes.
