how do you set/equip things

i am new to GT4 and can't seem to do it. i bought some tires and suspension set. but can't seem to adjust them. the only way to equip tires seems to be when you buy them, and it asks you, and suspension seems unsettable.

i would assume it's under garage but it just has the sell car & get in options
 
Click on the "home" icon then press start. Otherwise its "settings" when you're in a race screen.
 
I always just go to settings before a race and set it up there apart from engine/turbo parts which are ALWAYS fitted at purchase.
