How do you test/compare your cars?

So I have close to over 200 cars and I have a great deal of fun seeing which cars are fastest. I go to practice and I have 1 track for Le Mans and Group C racers, 2 tracks for racing sports cars and tuner cars( JGTC, RM, LM, DTM) 1 track for Classics, and 2 tracks for non tuner cars that I've modded ( M3, Ferrari, Lambo). I have a lot of fun seeing which cars are fastest after I tune them.
I was just wondering how everyone else goes about seeing which cars are fastest??

I run a lap around a course with one car, and save the best lap time ghost, I then choose the next car, and race against the best lap ghost.

Same. I usually would do about 5 laps in each car.

Yes and I use the top ten leaderboard, I just wish it was top 20 or 30. Anyone have any resolutions to that problem?

Write cars' names in Excel down, put in best lap times. This means I can always find the list again and see which ones can be recommended and which cannot.

Take them for a spin on the ring. Get a feel of the car and it's characteristics. Then buy and modify things if needed, such as suspension, LSD etc.

run a few laps at Tsukuba and a few around the ring, write down the times and keep track of weight and hp

Run a practice session on Nurburgring GP/F, the time is saved on the leaderboard, whenever I get a car I wanna compare, just run a practice session with that.

Only thing I can think of is just resetting it.

Similar solution though I tend to pay more attention to the cars general handling characteristics than just the fastest possible lap time - I need to know it is a car I can 'work' with :)

Yes but i like to have a list of all the cars best times, like on the show Top Gear

I do like the simple idea if making an excel spread sheet

You know, I had this thought that, if there was more than 10 on the leaderboard, you could use the right analogue to scroll up and down it.

That would be my resolution.

high speed ring, i probably have well over 1000 laps on it, i run most cars there 5 or 6 laps and see where they compare i dont log anything, but i know anything under 55 seconds is pretty decent.

the guy stormbringer runs deep forrest to compare cars, and i find that his number are pretty close out of the box. after i run 20 or so laps on it, i usually cut a second or 2 from his times. so that again tells me where the car stands not only with me but others.

the group i race with online, we pick a car and a track to run on ever week and do 5 lap races over and over and we all get the times down pretty quick.

I use TGTT, Nurby Nordy, and High Speed Ring. I also like the idea of a spread sheet. Now I know what I'll be doing over spring break.
