I have had GT6 for a day now, and I have had problems with FR and MR cars; and the problem is that they always spin out whenever I hit the gas, even when I lightly tap it. And it's not because of HP.

In GT5, I had never had this problem before, and I had amazing skills when it came to countering oversteer. I had applied my same tuning methods into GT6, and all the cars do is spin out; but unlike in GT6, my GT5 cars never spun out.

Can someone please tell me on how to fix this issue?

Please note, I am using Racing Soft Tires with FR and MR cars that are 600pp and lower.

Are they older cars? If so, some of them are a little more mental than more recently produced cars. I presume it's both. It would probably help to know a little more; is it on corner entry, in a shallow set of corners (like the Suzuka esses) or on a hairpin corner upon exit? Or is it all of the above? Do you have TC or any aids on?

Overall, with such sticky tires and most cars under 400 HP (I presume that around 600PP or less), you shouldn't have an issue with stock settings. Examples may help.

I am using a Diablo GT and a Corvette C7, and both have 650+hp, but for my Diablo, I had to take off around 200hp, so it's at stock hp now.

And the cars spin out everytime I hit the gas. Hell, I would be going straight, and it will still spin out.

I've heard the Diablo is... well... the devil.
The C7 shouldn't cause that much of an issue.
If you are using a manual transmission, try short shifting, if you know it'll do it out of a specific corner(s). Turn on TC to 1 until you get the hang of it (or more) and up the acceleration/initial LSD settings are 3 ways to help it. They can be used in tandem.

More advanced ways of dealing with it (but they're a bit more sensitive) are giving more toe-in to the rear wheels (negative value), lower rear damper settings, soften rear springs, lower ride height, and increase rear camber (but this won't help much on the straights).

Haha, yeah. I think it may also be the LSD. But I keep the Initial Torque at 20 something, and the Acceleration Sensitivity at 9 or below.

Since I do use a manual transmission, no shifting method has helped. :/

LOL! I Guess its just you :p I have my Diablo Gt2 at 600pp where I used it on the SECOND 15min race (ia?) and I just felt in love with that car. Only thing that got me curious about this beast was that it came with SH tyres and the settings says the huge rear wing got 0 aero?! I could not go anywhere near full throttle in the slightest turns but somehow it stole my heart! Is this car (irl) produced as a road car or a gt2 race car? With its tyres and low aero (big wing tho) I guess it's a roadcar on steroids? Appreciate more info on this car, I usual reads a car description before buying but this one I won:)

Might I recommend practicing with a stock (including tyres) Viper? Any of the premium ones, bar the ACR, will do, really. Its handling characteristics are quite similar to both the Diablo and (tuned) C7, but it's much more predictable, and thus, forgiving.

Some MR cars like the Audi LMS are terrible on DS3, the whole game engine/physics feels inconsistent and slightly broken to tell you the truth.
Another half assed, unfinished, rushed bodge job from PD, there really is no excuses after nearly 10 years (PD were first to have PS3 dev kits/target specs in at least 2004) working with PS3.
Ever since Kaz started pretending he is a racing driver GT has taken a back seat.

Personally you have to get used to it.

The Stingray C7 that you mentioned should be running smoothly, the thing is with Slicks, you have a better turning angle, you turn sharper and quicker, but you have to be more careful.

I can recommend a few options, one would be to use Sports tires, Sports Soft for the smoothest driving, I prefer Sports Hard, but with Soft you can get a better "GT5" esque feel you were talking about. You also mentioned acceleration and torque, for the LSD settings, with the Diablo, you would want the torque to be lower, about 10. Try stiffening the rear springs and having a low front and high rear. That should fix it. The Diablo is a twitchy car, but it works fine for me with careful driving and tuning.

If that still doesn't work for you, weight reduce it by stage 3 and apply as much ballast to correct the weight distribution, it might understeer a little more, but better than race ending oversteer. IDK what to say about FR cars, they handle well to me. With MR cars you generally have to be a bit more focused and careful, just like IRL!

Thanks, I'll try that!

I just did the 15min race in the Diablo GT2 at the Ring... And let me quote myself.. WOW! That must have been the toughest and best racingexperience so far in this game! I was really struggling with this beast and I would like to call it EPIC! I really had to feather the throttle in every single turn and I had to really battle it out and wait for my turn against the McLaren GTR for the whole last 3rd lap, and I nearly blew it a few times! He also overtook me a few times as we were actually RACING :D I've saved the replay and this car is really a treat once you learn to manner it right =)
600pp (weight stage 3 + Power) The only adjustments I've done to it was brakes(5/3) and LSD(30/35/30). Ds3, abs 1, RH

Would love to share the replay for any comments. I must add, I think someone messed this car up as it seems to handle as it has 0 downforce yet it has this huge wing with a bodykid that seems to be stolen from a LMP car if you know what I mean. Oh, btw, not to brag and all, but I did win with 0.5 seconds :p

I'm pretty sure there's a tune out there somewhere that would make it a lot easier to handle :) When reducing weight and adding power, the car changes completely. Power-to-weight ratio, obviously, but also weight balance.

First of all, this is incorrect. Putting RSs on a road car is just ridiculous. And with race cars, RHs are more realistic.

But you have to remember, PD tweaked the physics to be more realistic. I've tried my T500 RS on GT5 and was nowhere. On GT6, it almost feels like the real thing.

Try to predict when the rear wheels are going to spin at the exit of the corner and change up a gear. So if you are using an Automatic transmission swich to a Manual, as you will have much more controll over the car in such situations.

Max weight reduction and about 150 extra power. I dont really like to add balast (even for the 50:50) to get control of a car I'd rather take the challenge :P But this car online, I know I wouldnt stand a chance lol

Did you install custom wheels?

No I dont usually touch the custom wheels before they get the glitch fixed! Unless I know the car original got same widht on all four wheels.

Well, if the course has grass, DO NOT use Racing Hard tyres. It drifts out very easily in grass. Also, don't use the breaks if two tyres are on the grass and two are on the asphalt. It will drift out and you may not win. I was against a Huayra once and was first but drifted out and finished 4th (used a C7, modded)

The thing with Racing soft tyres is that their high level of grip is both their greatest strength and biggest weakness. You will be able to maintain much higher speeds and greater G-loads during cornering but because of this you are also much closer to the edge constantly, when the tyres eventually run out of grip you are going far faster so the resulting accident will happen much faster and be all but unrecoverable. The very nature of the tyre means that they are not designed to be forgiving, they will hit a certain point where the friction can no longer hold the car and it will just snap, no warning, no catching the slide. Its like hitting a patch of black ice, one minute its fine, the next you are facing the way you came and hoping your insurance will cover it.
The setup of the car is also very important, the higher the tyres grip the stiffer the car needs to be. If you have the body rolling about on top of the tyres they will hold on for a while but these forces will build up and eventually reach a level that the tyres can't resist. I wouldn't recommend fitting Racing Softs to most road cars as the cars are no way near as stiff as they need to be, even with the springs/dampers as high as they can go the car body is still shifting around on top and causing little load spikes that upset the tyres.

In short, Racing tyres require an extremely clean and progressive driving style, slow in fast out, if you try to fight them then they will kill you every time. The car also needs to be set up correctly, sticking super grippy tyres on a floppy road car will not work in GT6, the weight transfer physics are way more realistic than GT5 and more care has to be taken to optimise settings.

This is a necro thread (brought back from the dead.) Much of what was discussed in this thread has already changed due to alterations of the physics engine and bug fixes.

Sark

The secret to driving MR cars is to be very smooth. You don't have to steer as hard as you do with FR's. Do not mash throttle or brakes. Also beware of lift off oversteer. Make sure throttle is always applied during cornering.

Here's a suggestion for practise:
Lamborghini Countach 25th anniversery, CS tires, 0 ABS, 0 TCS, no ASM, no SRF.
I used Silverstone Intl Circuit to practise. It's basically semi- everything (-technical, -fast etc), so a good test course. My first controlled lap was 1:17.908.

My favorite RR attribute is the amazing grip you get powering out of corners. I've been running the '86 BTR frequently lately, and I love it. The trick to get the most out of the car in corners is making sure you know the course really well. If you don't, you're asking for trouble if you try to overdrive the car past your abilities. Driving a RR at max takes a major cojones. If you realize you made an error mid-turn you're asking for trouble.

Thanks for the help, you guys. I have actually found out that the problem that I spin out in the grass is due to the LSD. If one wheel steps off the road, the other three wheels will lock up and make the car spin out. It's just the way the LSD works, apparently.
