How does AI scream through bus stop?

I'm doing 10 and 15 lap races at Daytona Road Course now.

The AI is going through the bus stop at seemingly full speed in 5th or 6th gear. I have to drop to 3rd gear to get through it and almost every AI car within half a lap of me is flying past me like blurs.

I'm not a good enough driver to withstand this. I'm playing on medium difficulty with medium aggression and I just don't want to go down another level.

Has anybody experienced this?

Yup. I had the same on races I've done on Daytona Road.
I make a gap to them in the infield and they close it right up through the busstop.

Yes, AI are some cheating blankety blanks. Just turn it down and take the credits. Turn it back up on other tracks. Hopefully this will get fixed.

Yes, AI are some cheating blankety blanks.

They also don't get penalties for cutting the track, at least from what I've seen.
