How does duping work??

I'm pretty new to all this. I keep reading about people who "dupe". I assume this is short for duplicating cars. The only thing I learned from reading is that people have a "sub account". I assume a "sub account" is for example, my brother making a profile on MY PS3. With that being said, how does one dupe??
 
get car in main account, back up main account, gift car to sub acount, use backup to restore main account so you have the car and gave the car. back up on sub account, and regift to another account, etc....

x1's seem to be the car of choice to dupe to no end.
 
Oh wow thats pretty simple. I woulda thought restoring the main account would restore all sub accounts. Shows you how new I am to the ps3 lol I actually bought it so I could play this game.
I guess that's how people manage to sell x1's on eBay and trade them. Lucrative business I must say as I was going to buy one the day 1.07 happened. Good thing I didn't. I'm hoping the ban is lifted so I can though lol
 
meh, i traded for an x1 early in the game, and once you have one, you can bspec enough money to get what you want for the most part without all the nonsense. its just how much time you want to devote to it.

for me, its a diversion for the winter until it warms up enough to do real car stuff which i figure is a few weeks away. then the ps3 will get a break for 6 or 8 months...lol

Can't really do this now as it is a 1 car per console but you can trade with others.

im speaking for the last few months, not the last few days.

im sure there were people on here with 10 plus sub accounts and could dupe 10-20 cars a day. and x1's were the car to have back in december, and im sure you could trade 10 a day for other cars until you have them all.
 
Just would like to inform that you cannot trade cars for over 1m cr anymore after the 1.07. As far as I know there is no reason to start do this sglynn, unless you want to duplicate cheaper vehicles.

They have delayed the 1 mill limit until March 3rd
