I'm looking at buy some SS badges and a SS bowtie for my blazer. Then I thought about it....is this to ricey? I mean I am going to do engine work and I have some exterior upgrades. I kinda sorta want to make my own SS Blazer. But is this to rice? Let me know what you think.

why would I put chevy logos on a honda????

but since they never will make a SS Blazer I want to make my own if you know what I'm saying.

go for it .. dont forogt the rims itll look crap if u got no rims

ss stands for Super Sport. Its chevys answer to the SVT, AMG, TYPE R, etc. I'm looking to get rims soon to I just need some more cash.

SS packages contaned more power, better handling, and some apperance changes.

I wouldn't have gone with neon ground lights; they're really boy-racerish. And stock wheels look absolutely great for what you're trying to do.

I wouldn't have bought the neons but I found them on eBay for 50 bucks. Its just for show, plus its popular around here to put neons on trucks for some reason...I think its a LO thing.

As for the rims I think I might just keep it stock and save the cash and put it in the motor

Probably a safe bet.

well if M5 says its a good idea then it must be!

Look all these threads that I am missing. So you plan on coping me? Saw the pictures of my truck. Just so long as it is known that I was the first one to come up with this idea, I guess its ok.

Listen, this is how I justify it. In 1996 to 1998 before the release of the Xtreme, Chevy came out with a S-10 SS. This "SS" had the 4.3 V-6 and a better suspension package. IMO the Xtreme fits into that catergory. When I bought the truck, it anoyed me that there was no badging that said it was the v-6. Whats to seperate it from people thinking its 4. So I went got the badges.

Now just to fore warn you... the badges come with the bowtie attached to them. Your gonna have to get creative in order to make them look right on your truck.

Oh, and don't feel bad about the neons, I have them as well. White ones. IMO as long as you don't cross that "line" you will get nothing but compliments.

SS bow tie is 25 bucks, and each SS badge is 15 I think. Just to let you know.

Just don't get those cheap little plastic red SS emblems I see on every other car on the road.

Get some like these. You can order them from Original Parts Group.
OPG

They are Chevelle SS emblems from 2 different years and they aren't made of plastic.

I understand what your saying DGB, but think about it, the Xtreme badge is plastic. Plus the SS badges from the 96-98 S-10 uses the same font as the Xtreme logo. So it matches a lot better.

IMO, it would look more fake, or ricey, if he used a metal old style SS badge.

Just something to think about.

This is what he and I am talking about. Just picture one of the older SS bagdes under that Xtreme logo. This is a bad picture, but I have a better one at home and post it tonight.

neons RULE, rice it all the way. there is nothing wrong with rice so long as you have the engine to back up any offensive mods you put on it.

First of all putting Chevy Emblems on a Chevy Truck is not rice. Puting honda Type R emblems on the Chevy is indeed rice. Or GT-R Emblems for that matter.
For my entire life seeing SS on any Chevy meant that it was one of the "special" ones and, unless I was in the Country Squire (with the 429SCJ) I probably ought not "pull his chain".
Besides, once you have the blower in, you will be SS'in in a big way.

BTW I agree with DGB. Go with the best emblems you can. However, I also agree with Magic, that you should stay with the same kind of emblems all around and not "mix and match".
You could also take off all emblems except for the SS emlems and go for that Monochromatic look.
