Allowed:👍
all tuning shop equipment
nitrous
wing
BP FALKEN d1gp rx7
settings tweaks
race cars (declare that it is a racer if you use one)

Not Allowed:👎
wheelie trick
any cheat disc tricks

I got 225 mph in an rx7 type r (fd) before i even got to test course's first turn, without nos or any settings tweaks, as i was in a rush to go out

OIL CHANGES ARE ALLOWED BTW

Roughly 270mph is easily possible. Probably more, with some more precise tuning than the quick test I did. If you think it's possible to reach 300mph in a rotary-engined road car, come and ask the guys here.

If you fancy opening it up to rotary race cars, namely the 787B, you'll find that you have 332.51mph to beat. If you do want to take shots at 300mph-plus runs, definitely follow the link above :)

As far as road cars go, you will probably find that the original Mazdas (not the tuner models) will be better suited to this task.

As some advice for the future, try to avoid double-posting on these forums - we have an Edit button for a good reason, it keeps threads less cluttered. Welcome to GTP 👍

It is ok to use racers mate, but please declare that it is a racer, im just going to try now in my fd type-r and the bp falken drifter

Thanks for the advice

EDIT: So far i got 271.14 mph out of my fd type-r, much more possible but i set the final drive so long that it hit 91 mph in 1st gear!

Rotaries can virtually rev forever, so you can probably go pretty fast, I suggest that you raising the front all the way, lowering the rear al the way, and add ing some downforce on the rear for better speeds. Make sure that your in the powerband of the rotary as well if you want to get the best acceleration.

It's just a shame that GT4 doesn't allow us to reset rev limiters. Actually, I'd quite like to remove them altogether - but the reason for not letting us do this, I suspect, is that it would require engine damage to be factored in over a more accurate timescale than just miles driven. So PD haven't bothered with it :p

Then again, 'revving forever' doesn't really help - all we need are accurately set up gear ratios and we can stay well within the powerband at very high speeds.

Let us know if the race version is any faster, although I doubt it will be.

I believe the record for the highest speed reached in first gear is in excess of 300mph, although I can't remember exactly what it is, I could check it out :sly:
As I said, if you do feel like moving to the 787B (to our knowledge, the only 300mph-capable rotary-engined car), take a look at the 300mph Club thread. 👍 Keep on trying!

I will try to beat 332 mph, just as soon as i get hold of a 787B, i had one on a different save, but i got bored with that file, so i deleted it. I'm approaching day 694, so i will have to get my money up and try to buy all the black cars. 300 mph in 1st is insane! I said in a previous post that you must declare the car to be a racer, i will edit my 'rulebook' in my first post :)

I'm not sure whether the current official record for the 787B was done in a new, liveried version or a used Black car - although it's pretty safe to say it was a new car. My current posted speed for the 787B Race Car is 300.00mph, although it was once 300.03mph I prefer the latest one :p

300mph in first gear was achieved in the Chaparral 2D Race Car.

The first gear Chaparral 2D did 305.10mph, though I could probably get a little more out of it. The 787B is good for at least 333mph I reckon, and maybe a little more if I get it back to the track any time soon. ;)

Sorry for going off topic a bit, but i'm at day 650 and wanna try to get all the black cars in one go. The problem is, i only have about 850k credits and need about 8,000,000 credits to get them all. Please give me some advice someone, but bear in mind that since i deleted my 'good' save, i'm only on about 21% so can't do enduros or extreme events:(

Wait for the second cycle - days 1394-1400.
The best money maker available to you would be the European Events > Deutsche Touring Car, but this only gets you about 900,000 in 7 days. Run this through six times would earn you about 5.4 million, and take you to day 692 leaving just 2 days to make another 1.7 million. Impossible.

</off topic>

I think the only rotary cars available are the 787B, RX7's, RX8's and Maxda 110's. How fast can you go in a 1967 110S?

I think there;s just enough time to get to 25% and do the Nurburg 24H 2 or 3 times... Should try and find out. Otherwise, just do the DTM championship and be glad with 2 or 3 cars...

its ok now, thanks for the help but i just gave up, sold my amg clk-gtr race car and got the black 787b, i will make sure i have enough money on the second cycle, the 787b will do for now. :)
