Since the Shelby is so much faster than any other AI in the 500PP events, and given how poorly the AI drives I decided to give the Shelby a run to see how fast it could be if driven by a competent (but not alien) driver.

The AI Shelby runs 1:03 laps in this event, with a trt of 7:03 (due to him running a short lap 1).

I grabbed an unmodified Shelby from my garage and gave it a fresh oil change. I checked to be sure it didn't need an engine rebuild. Good to go.

Headed to CR where I have been putting in alot of laps in low PP cars. All aids off except ABS1. My first response was Holy Frijole! It's 486PP bone stock, and it's seriously underrated. (Which we already knew.)

If the AI was driving this car to it's potential you wouldn't catch it with anything at 500PP. The AI loses 7 seconds a lap compared to a decent human driver. :ouch:

The first 2 laps are just dodging the AI roadblocks and then down to business. High 0:57 laps getting past the AI and then low 57s and then high 56s.

I know there is more there so I go again. This time I manage a 56.4

Go again and get 56.3 but I know it can do a 55. I feel I'm losing half a second at least.

I try again and squeek out a 56.1 but I need to take a break. I can feel I'm getting too desperate.

I know it will do a 55 bone stock. Maybe a 54? Any aliens want to step up and show what it really can do...

No aids, no shortcuts.

Nice idea. Have you tested the other front running FR 500 AI cars? Just to compare how well the AI pedal these cars.

I feel motivated to have a bit of a dash at Mt Aso - If you click the typical opponents button it will give a possible grid with actual PP scores? (Memory is fading after sunday afternoon babycham and absinthe.)

Evenso just to compare the normal laps and the total race pace of the AI and the player in the same car will be - interesting.

Well my typical opponents never seems to change.

The M3 hoever has the same statas a 0/0/0 so I guess all the AI cars are at that level.

Mt Aso AI 487pp - 319bhp/1202kg
AI Shelby 1m16.5s 8m42s

I managed in my Shleby (used - but any Oil and Engine overhaul would take it over the AI numbers)
317bhp/39/1202/sm 15,993.9miles - 486pp
1m08.0 - 8m09.9
1m08.1 - 8m05.7
310bhp/38/1202/sm 16,020.1miles - 473pp

Nice enough car, back end does like to skip out and I needed to control the throttle and modulate the brakes or else I'd leave dirty great trails of rubber in the two tough corners in sector 3 and then in the final sector in the chicane+ Offcamber hairpin.

Obviously this car is far too good, but when I caught up with my Shelby the top speeds were the same just in the corners the AI gets pretty timid.

Can is otherwise bone stock - Nothing added - (SM tyres... paint)
Only the Abs and TCS removed and Brake Bias moved to 3/2

Supra RZ

Never seen this one on the grid. But
471pp - 326bhp/1510kg

My Supra - 473pp - 330bhp/1510kg 3834.8miles
1m10.1s - 8m20.7s
1m09.8s - 8m19.8s
My Supra - 471pp - 326bhp/1510kg 3860.9miles

Great idea! Thanks for all the info. I'll give my Shelby Series 1 a try. You've inspired me!💡
