How has the start of the year been for you?

It's been almost two full months since the start of the new decade. And people's lives have even changed.

So how has your first two months of year been?



Pros:

  • Birthday on the 24th of January. Highlight: Philips Opus 8GN MP3/4 player.
  • Got Premium from Eric (AKA Croooooooow)
  • Had a fairly good start to the school year (NZ year starts in February).
  • One more year closer to getting a Learner Licence.

Cons:

  • Homeroom teacher a freakin' ass:censored:.
  • My Crossfire account - with a really rare gun - got hacked and now am hoping to get it back soon :nervous:.


So, how's yours been?
 
First 2 months have been boring.

Next 3 months will be awesome ..... have VIP Nascar "go anywhere" credentials for the Bristol race after which we will be leaving in our new 2010 Accord EX for a 7000 mile, coast to coast trip with 13 rendezvous with long lost friends. We have no schedule or itinerary .... just back roads leading us to nowhere in particular, staying for as long as we want and doing whatever strikes our fancy :)

Should be fun eh ?
 
Meh... Just another year to me so far. Nothing has stood out much. I'm in year 11 now and have pretty much the same teachers as last year...studying the same subjects (woodwork, Metal & Engineering, Construction, Maths, English) only exception is that school is actually fun because all the idiots have dropped out and allowed us to actually learn.

Nothing much happening outside of school either.

First two months really busy with work projects. Next month will be the release of mini-me v2.0, so I expect that to soak up a lot of my time as well. :)
 
I've had an interesting twenty-ten so far.

Pros:
  • Was APL (Australian Poker League) Regional champion for an area bigger than Sydney in Oct-Dec '09, so I got regional champion prizes along with venue champion prizes!
  • Got rid of room-mate who was living here after she mentally/verbally abused my son, did it on Australia Day too, so I hope she remembers that every year! 👍
  • Mum came up for holiday last week, first time I'd seen her in nearly 6mths. :D

Cons:
  • 1JZ-GTE blew in my Cressida......major $$$$ replacement needed. :ouch:
  • Had an AVO placed against me for a phonecall made to someone 1500km away, after they started it......:grumpy:
  • Music label "official" launch delayed for atleast 2mths.....*sigh* :ouch:.

So yeah, been an interesting one so far for me, and we haven't even hit March yet!! :eek:
 
2010 wasn't that bad for me soo

Pros:
  • I wen't to cape verde lest week
  • My father bought a canon eos 50D (He doesn't use it really so I can use it a lot
  • I started getting my grades up in school

Cons:
  • The school year is going to get harder, because I'm going to high school next year and we have a bunch of tests <.<

Hmm I think thats it. Can't find any more cons, but I'm sure I will think of something.
 
My year goes like this...

Pros:

  • Settled into school nicely..
  • Got a whole load of technological stuff in the house now, and got plenty of PC's to screw around with when bored..

Cons:

  • Plenty of homework to keep me busy and away from the PC. Not necessarily a bad thing but I guess it goes for both but mostly for the worse.
  • Last year of playing around before VCE.

Other than that it's been quite uneventful and boring. However I am rather anxiously waiting for my birthday as this year I can legally start learning how to drive. Other than that, it's just going to be another year.
 
Has started well so far. Settled back into school (most boys are still super immature for Grade 10) and I turn 15 this year. Finally able to buy all games legally. This year is looking like just another year at the moment. A highlight will be going over to Japan and Korea mid year.
 
So far? It's been pretty "meh".

Pros:
  • Have the most promising lead on a job thus far.
  • Been on a couple of ski adventures, a wine tasting tour, and done some hiking.
  • Started getting new outdoor gear to replace my old stuff.
  • New camera.
  • Broke up with Kate

Cons:
  • Only a promising lead on a job, not an actual "you're hired" situation.
  • Spent a bit more then I should have.
  • Broke up with Kate.
 
Pros:
  • Haven't got ill.
  • Passed my theoretical driving exam today, after studying only for two hours.
  • Perhaps I will get my driver's license before the month ends.
  • My hair has grown since last year. The longer my hair, the better.
  • Yesterday an old friend of mine came to my house. I stalemated him on chess.
  • This is my last year of school.
  • New season of Lost.
  • Met a girl yesterday. She's kinda cute. What's funny is that I had been looking at her since I arrived yesterday on school.

Cons:
  • She talks a lot.
  • New season of Lost will explain little to nothing.
  • I still have to go to school.
  • Given it is my last year of school, cons will arrive the next year.
So it's been a good year so far.
 
Nothing much happend so far this year but I have plans for the coming months.

I will be moving to Italy in April and taking a year off work. I will use this time to learn PHP/MySQL/HTML etc and have very good business model that I will be building as I learn. Sometime in October/November I will head to the USA for a few months to travel around.

university is killing me
liking my best friend is becoming a serious problem now. Constantly in my head 24/7. What if...
alot of drama happened in my circle of friends. I dont think theres even a circle anymore
mother at times is still as irrational as always. Screaming for the most absurd reasons
marks arent as high as i would've liked albeit i haven't been trying as hard as last term

all in all, not so good :/
 
Some of these pro's and con's are pretty interesting.
I was surprised this would actually get some posts :lol:.
 
Kinda average for me. I'm starting to get some bills paid down or completely off, so that's good. Only way it can get any better is if I actually get a raise on my next review. (been on a salary freeze for over a year) :(
 
Pro's:

&#8226; Qualified for the Irish Gt Academy Finals - meet some really nice folks that are members here.
&#8226; Finally found a nice set of Advan RG I's for my Levin(been searching way too long!).
&#8226; Good start to year work wise been busy with projects etc.

Cons:

&#8226; Swine flu followed by chest infection and i still have a damn cough after 3 weeks
&#8226; My super-struts need replacing thanks to the wonderful Irish roads $$$
&#8226; Gas boiler at home has packed in so more $$$
 
Will go into more detail on another thread when I am ready, but I guess I owe some explanation for my lack of posts so far this year.

Pros:
Awarded in a state conference for effort and achievement
Recieved expressions of interest for my poetry
Met about 80 new people, of whom about 10 may go on to become long term friends
I feel favourably towards one of those 10.

Cons
One of my old closest friends chose 2010 as the year to begin denying my existance
Broken toe
Broken finger
Spider bite and concussion (literally this Monday)
Stabbed in the back by 2 organisations I am a member of
Person I am feeling favourably towards lives 30km away, and comes from a different socio-economic class
Depression getting much worse.

Will go into more detail at a later date, if I feel a need to vent (apologies in advance to the forum, I will remain within AUP if I do).
