Forgive me if this question seems stupid, but I'm not really a gamer. I've had every Playstation since the first, but mostly have just used them for sports games and GT. I have never played a game that had DLC.

I'm wondering how DLC is integrated into the game usually. Is it assumed everybody will buy it? Do the developers integrate it into the core of the game requiring people to buy it in order to finish the game?

I'm wondering about this because of the possibility of tracks being DLC for GT5. That got me to wondering how they would use the tracks? What if all players don't get them? It would seem hard to make them part of events then?

I'm thinking if any new tracks are going to be used in new events that they just might be in the Spec 2 update instead. That way all players will have equal access to them. Maybe DLC will be cars only

For GT5, you download a car, it appears in your garage, and you can use it like any other normal car, paint it, mod it etc. You can even put it online for people to borrow it. Only difference is that i's permanent, meaning if you delete it you have to go to your PSN account and redownload it. No one else can use it but you, and the borrow glitch won't work on it.

Track will probably be the same almost, show up in the list and can use them online, but the lobbies using it only show if you have bought the track yourself.

New tracks will probably be used in seasonals ect, and to enter it you would need the required dlc ect.

I can see that working for cars and for tracks to some extent. However, any track that is available as DLC won't be able to be used in any core events in the game. I'm hoping that Spec 2 will have some new events and hopefully some of these events will have new tracks. That has me thinking that if they do introduce new tracks, that it is highly likely the will be part of Spec 2 instead of DLC

Unless of course game developers routinely add content in the form of DLC and just require that gamers buy the content if they want to complete the game. Unless that is common practice I don't see GT5 doing that.

I think new events are coming for sure. I'm hoping, but we will never know. I just hope it helps with getting me to level 40. Grinding La sarthe alone from level 37 would take over 400 races, so that's not an option. Neither are enduros. That's why I hope mid race saves come.
