How is it possible to drive quickly in these conditions?

Last time I played with my DFGT was about 2 months ago!
I picked it up today and set it all up :D
Went to options and changed the steering settings (I think) to 'Simulation'.
Got into my 430 Scuderia. Sports Hard tyres.
Turned every single assist off. Turned 'off the racing line' traction thing to 'Real'. And went to a rainy Nurburgring. And guess what... Spun out as soon as the race started. Didn't even reach the start line :indiff:

That one lap of Nurburgring took me 15 minutes :nervous:

It's like driving on ice! The wheels spin even when in 6th gear :dopey:

Any suggestions?

PS. There should be a competition like this. No assists, simulation, rain!
 
Shift early and be gentle on the gas. When it's rainy I end up shifting as low as 3000 RPM when the rain gets really bad.
