That I can wait until level 21 to get the Jeff Gordon NASCAR car and use it, but if I gift it to my nine year old son who is level 13, he can use it right away?

And people want to complain about duping cars is cheating? Here is cheating built right into the playbook...

No not really, you have to be a certain level to buy each car, not to use them and it's the same for everyone, so it can't really be called a cheat.

Probably the same way that if your 9 year old son goes to a real car dealership, they won't be selling him a car. But if you go and buy the car, you can give him the keys and he could drive it (not legally, but he could)

The level thing is only for purchasing the car.
Which is why you can win the Red Bull X1 at level 30 but need to be level 40 to buy it.

But he can't play the NASCAR races in Extreme..

Possibly because the howls of protest that 'gifting' a car still didn't allow the recipient to drive it until he actually ACCOMPLISHED anything would raise the rafters!

The original intent was that, if you 'gifted' the car to your son, or whoever you wanted to, you DIDN'T HAVE THAT CAR ANY MORE (until you bought another one or had it 'gifted' back to you). Sadly, the price of data security for the game save has made a mockery of the original intent of the game creators.

What boggles the mind is that none of this was thought out in advance by PD. Maybe I'm smarter than the average bear (unlikely, though!), but an unlocked game save, well, it's pretty OBVIOUS what exploits can be done with it. But it's also pretty obvious that a protected game save, without a cloud' based backup, is just as bad for the game. Why has so little attention been paid to the issue? Did Kaz honestly think that releasing the game with a protected game save wasn't going to raise a howl of protest to the moon and back?

Sometimes I wonder what these guys were doing for the last six years

Not really a new topic.
