i waited out side of best buy for 22 hours..... hoping to get my hands on one. The main reason why i got the ps2 was because of this game GT3 well at that time it was GT2000 but it was well worth the wait.
As with Tom, no waiting here. Well I take that back, it was like a month after it's release I went in (again) to get one. The PS2 allocation to my town was like:
Walmart - 12
Shopko - 12
Kmart - 6
Everybody Else - 0
As you can see there really wern't a whole lot to go around.
I went into toys "r" us once, and jokingly ask the guy if he had one, he answered no and i went on looking at the games, and playing PS2 on the setup they had. He came up to me five min later and said he had one in the back reserved for a guy he didn't think was gonna show... He said he would give the guy 15 more min. Turns out the guy walked in 14 min later.
So i got close to having one right away, but turned out I had to wait another month before I would walk into a best buy full of them!! I was pretty excited... and really weird seeing so many in one place... they didn't last long trust me!!!
LOL i remember the day at best buy when i was in line from the night before. There were 2 lines by the time best buy oppend. 1st line (the one i was in) & 2nd line (we all called them the hope line) (like they were hopein to get a ps2) I guess it was kindof sad making fun at them. Well no it wasnt hehe! that was one of the coolest days in my 21 years of life. No wait i take that back. Well it ranks up there with one of the coolest days. 1st coolest day would have been the fist time i had SeX baby (way back when) that was pretty cool and next would be the day , Days i took a cruise with my parents , and than when i got my ps2. LOL
