Ive got a Audi TT touring car thats currently got 541 miles on the clock. ive started to notice that its not as quick as it used to be. it has poor acceleration, skids all over the place and corners like a sack of potatos.

ive changed the oil and this did nothing.

should i install a roll cage to improve rigidity? will this sort out my probs, or shall i buy a new car?

at 550,000 credits this car isnt cheap!

advise welcomed.

i tried searching for this in the faq's nothing came up

Well, what I've just noticed just a few minutes ago is that after the cars performance has diminished from its state of mint condition you should just take it to the dealer tune shop and give it a rigidity refreshner plan which returns the car into the perfect condition it was in, and it's only 50,000cr. See if that helps, it helped my Pescarolo Sport Judds LMP

steer away from the roll cage! i installed one on my maxed out nismo 400r, and it totally ruined it! what makes the rollcages worse is that they cant be uninstalled, so your skuppered if you choose one oand the handling is knackered. best go for the refresher plan.

Nope never noticed the Roll Cage Installment destroy the balance of the car, it actually makes the performance better, you probably had tweak out some other settings, that cause such unbalanced performance.

Buy the Rigidity Refresher Plan FIRST, then get the Increase Rigidity option.

Some think the Increase Rigidity option "locks" the chassis in the condition it was in when it is installed. If the chassis is worn out, the option locks it there. If, however, you buy the RRP (and I would exit out, save, then go back to the tune shop before buying the IR option) first, you return the chassis to as-new condition, which the IR option further improves.

The IR option has improved the handling of every car I've installed it on. It even made the great Pescarolos better, which is saying something, indeed.

The IR plan is the only one that I've yet to put on any car.

I recall hearing something when I was just starting about it reducing Oversteer...and well...I'm too fond of getting sideways to risk that.

Btw, my Ruf RGT has over 550 Miles on it, with about 500 of those being on the Nurburgring....and if there is any course in the game that would be hard on a car, that is the one....and so far it's only lost a little power (I change the oil regularly, every 5-10 laps) but it handles just as sweet as ever.

My Audy R8 already have 20000km and gosh...poor one....I win another just to see the difrence between and its huge....corners, bracking, aceleration....almost everything.....

I like the Mercedes Sauber C9 very much....i allready win 2 of them...i just dont want to take that problems again

I would definately go for the refresh plan.. Installed the rollcage on my tuned M5 once and (in my opinion) it completely ruined its handling. Like it says when you install it, "may cause the car to understeer".. I'll say! Had to sell the M5 and buy a new one. :ouch: Probably not the case with every car though..

Cheers!

BTW, the body refresh should as far as I know completely bring the car's chassi back to the state it was in when you won/bought it..

Yes, the RRP (Rigidity Refreshner Plan) brings the car back to mint condition as when it had 0 miles, ect. ect. But I don't know about the myth of installing the RRP before or after the Rollcage Installment, sorry but haven't found that myth true till now. May in fact be true, but at least I have not experience such unbalance behavior on my cars prior to this.

Read somewhere here a while back that someone came to the conclusion that it "locks" the chassi in its "worn-out" state if you don't refresh the chassi before installing the rollcage. Provided the chassi is worn-out, that is..

Cheers!

Yes, in fact I did read that like hours ago. But what I stated was that I haven't had that problem with my cars, don't know which reason would that be, but as long as the performance is there I'm happy.

Cheers!

Neither have I and I don't intend to either as I have learned my lesson when it comes to the roll cage.. Don't buy it! :)

Well, I like I had said till this point the method I use when tuning up my cars, I tend to buy everything in order, for no such reason, which means I purchase the Rollcage Installment because as I seen the RRP(Rigidity Refreshner Plan) is offered after you've reached "X" number of miles, which would be like 300+ miles or so, don't really know the exact amount. Anyhow, I'm proud to say I haven't suffered of any unbalancing dissorders on my beautiful rides. :dopey:  Well, not yet and hopefully not soon.

Hi people, I've been reading through the forums here for some time. Haven't really gotten around to putting in my word. Everyone seems to cover all angles. I have installed the roll cage on a couple of my cars. It seems to help the 05 Mustang.

so has anyone been able to do the refresher more than once on the same car?

I would suppose as I had said before after every "X" number of miles on the car, the Rigidity Refreshner Plan becomes available to whomever could afford 50,000cr (CyberMoney) to purchase it.

the refresher can be perform infinitely on one car. However, I have heard that after a certain (and extremely large) amount of miles, the refresher will not completely restore the car's handling, although it will come damn close.

Ok, back to Zardoz Theory of Rigidity, I was wondering that I have probably not experienced such unbalance behavior because when I've installed the so hated IR(Increase Rigidity) option, I've installed it once I bought the car, I don't tend to wait to get mileage to do all the modifications, anyhow bringing back Zardoz Theory he says that the IR somehow "locks" the chassis condition, therefore it would so-called "lock" the chassis condition to the mint condition I have the car in, which has 0 miles, and has yet to suffer from harsh track conditions.

My Minolta has like 19,000 kilometers on it and it still performs like the day I got it. Just do the refresher plan.

i purchased the rigidity replenisher plan. But to my dissapointment the car still performs terribly, its permenantly like its running on totally ruined / worn out tires and 100bhp underpowered. No more cash cow on the european touring car championships for my trusty audi TT. unless i purchase a new tourer. :(

I've done the body refresh plan on cars that the improved rigidity helped alleviate understeer, while other cars just felt better to drive with a worn body.

The rollcage thingy is just more of the same, but it doesn't wear out. And no, it doesn't matter when you put those things on.

The body refresh does bring the car back to what it was like new, but that's not going to affect the engine.

btw: I've had to do it three times to my mercedes Sauber. It's still a great car!

Or you win a Touring car...

European hall:
Schwarzwald League B : MERCEDES-BENZ AMG 190E 2.5 16V Evolution II (DTM) '92
If you win this car, you can go to the Mercedes-Benz races if you don't want to buy a 'normal' Mercedes:
Legend of Silver Arrow : MERCEDES-BENZ CLK Touring Car (D2 DTM) '00

Italian Festival: ALFA ROMEO 155 2.5 V6 TI Race Car '93

All 3 can be used in this cup, so you don't need to buy them. At least, I didn't.

Thanks, i have finished both Scharzwald league A & B. but i sold the AMG car. looks like i may have to redo it as its got "green hell" in the series! 👍

If you repeat the refresher on a used car (which had extremely high mileage to begin with, which in my case is a BMW M Coupe) it becomes less effective after about 4 or 5 refreshers... I then increased the rigidity and it immediately felt better. Haven't fitted a rollcage though. And the car is unmodified.
