how long PAST the oil light have you all gone?

So how far past the time in which your oil light came on, have you guys driven a car? Not sure what measurement I am looking for, or even that I am.. It's just that I drove my F094 quite a bit in arcade, came back and the light popped on, (meant to go change the oil but forgot), at the beginning of race #2 in a 10 race series. I decided that rather than quit and go change it, I was gonna see just how badly I can deteriorate the engine, how black the oil will get and if maybe a displacement mod can be done later or somthing. (don't figure so on that last one, but just somthing I thought of that could be cool) To help her out a lil bit, rather than drive it correctly, (when I am in the lead), I'm downshifting rather than braking into and through the corners, so as to peg the RPM up at 17k :D Not sure if this has any effect on it but figured, hey, if I'm gonna do it, do it right!! Just wondering if any of you had any expierience with this sort of thing?
 
I drove my 787B in one of the 10 race pro series, I think it was GT World Champs., and my oil light came on during the third race!
I don't know how many miles it toke to finish the series, but it was a bunch.
I do remember my car was down over 200hp by the start of the last race.
After that, she still won't go much over 900hp, and before she had 1000+(this even though I raced her in 600+hp trim, and added the last turbo after)
 
yea, that seems to be the consensus, that all that happens is your HP drops a set amount, (and only a small percentage of the total), and that's about it. They had such a cool idea to put that detail in there, wonder why they didn't take it just a step or two farther? Oh well, maybe in GT4. As for my F094, I ended up saving the race and turning it off, still got 5 more races on that oil. I'm just gonna finish it and go change it. In the next GT I wanna see smoke and some major loss of engine life, then the ability to go and get it stroked and such! :D

didnt check the HP but it was damn slow after a while, no permanent changes tho...this is the F094 btw

Mine did that once, change your oil be4 the series. I did the entire f1 championship on oil light, skipping 4 races.

I forgot that the second race was that Seattle 40 lapper, so I can see how your light would come on, I usually skip that race, monaco, test course and tokyo to win the series in 6 races. :)
 
I did 100 Laps on the Test Course in my Lotus V8 SE and my oil disappeared when I was seeing about giving it an oil change. It also gave me an extra 300HP though :D :eek: :D
