How long should Bungee Rope be for DFGT mod

Im gonna mod my DFGT pedals by putting Bungee Rope on it (like what alot of people do) to make the brakes more stiffer and realistic, But dont know how long the Bungee Rope should be? 14 inch?

Just go to Walmart and buy a package of yellow foam golf balls. Slide behind brake pedal. Works great. If too stiff you can cut ball in half for less resistance.

Or use foam rubber and sponges... or anything similar.
