I have been inactive because I play Travian. That game is starting to wear on me and I am getting bored. I liked this community because it is so large that there is always new action. Travian is the same repetitive thing day in and day out.

I will be coming back here now.

I never post in the GT4 area. I just don't play the game that often. I stick to the Rumble Strip, Computer Area, and the Photoshop/Photography areas.

I also agree that The Onion rocks! My father had it the other day. The cover story, George Bush Elected President of Iraq! He also had the top 10 articles of the Onion 2005.

So, you'll be quitting Travian soon then?

No, just becoming semi-inactive.

I will also be finishing 1st sememster in 10 schooldays! YIIIIIIPPPPPEEEEE! My second semester will be much easier and I will have more time.

All of my hard classes will be over. English (short story & drama), Speech, and Honor's Pre-Calc. No math my second semester! The first time in my life I have never had math in school! We only have quarter or semester long classes. Nothing is a year long.

I'm sorta semi-active I guess. I come here everyday but rarely post. I just mainly lurk around the forums reading stuff. Too many people from the old days that I liked chatting with are gone. :(

GTP jumped in membership from about 25,000 members to about 70,000 members during the year (and particularly the last few months) leading up to the relesase of GT4.
And I was one of the many that joined during that period also. Although I stayed here, in many other forums, I have zero to just few posts.

I think i was registered for a month before i posted, then i made about four posts in as many months, got the USBdrive for the PS2 so my posting became serious as i could contribute in a real sense ( feeling left behind initialy ) and with that you wander in to the off . . .

1. You have to register to search the forums, download attachments, plus you get no scrollover ads (the red words), no annoying ad box at the top-right hand of the post, and you get no pop-ups. Heck, the reason I joined was that I needed to use the search function. Nothing more, nothing less. Now I'm a GTP addict. :scared:

2. The 11.22 percentage is a bug in the system.

3. And you have to violate the AUP and TOS a crapload of times to get banned. Asking a simple question and pointing out a bug in the system doesn't deserve a ban, IMO.

That's not quite true. My friend Dave who registered here not long ago gets the annoying rollover ads, or to name them correctly, sponsored ads.

I was also one of many whom joined prior to the release of GT4. I was (back then) attending a dutch GT4 site. There was a link to GTplanet and since then, I stayed. I joined in july 2004 and made my first post in october.

I joined GTP to ask a question about the Escudo in GT2.... look at me now. 800 and something posts @ about 1.5 a day for about one and a half years. :)

He shouldn't get those if he's logged in, I don't think.

I cant remember why i joined.

My Main reason for being at GTP is racing GT4 (used to be GT3) in the OLR section. And while im at it i venture into the opinions, off topic and GTA sections with an Occasional look at GT4 and other sections.

Is their a feature to see what section the BULK of your posts are?

hey, its been a while! upon returning i noticed that there over 83,166 members! damn this place is popular! so i decided to browse the members directory to find out who were the top posters, and boy are there some big hitters with some members achieiving inexcess of 16,000+ posts! not bad i thought. then i looked at the other end of the scale at those that had posted the least, and i was shocked by what i found.

why are there so many people that have never posted at all? by 'so many' i mean 63,674 people that have never posted at all. why is that figure so high? if you include members that have posted less than 10 times, the figure jumps up to 76,459! now subtract that from the actual count shown at the top of the forums page, which is 83,146 (at the time of this posts creation) and your left with only 6,707 active members. even if you subtracted the members that heve never posted, you would only have 19,742 active members. thats one hell of a difference.

further investigation reveals some disturbing truths. GTPs actual membership has been fudged, ie. made up! i tell no lies! if you dont believe me check these page ranges yourself (sorted by join date): 3080 to 4131. do you see a pattern yet?

if you look at all the members that have joined from 03 april 2005, when gt4 stats were first included in our profiles (page 3484 sorted by join date) up until today, you will notice that out of those that have not made a single post, every single one has got the same gt4 completion percentage: '11.22.' isnt that a tad suspicious? infact the latest member craig_c who has only just joined today has the same gt4 completion percentage of '11.22.'! check his profile here:
craig_c

by my rough calculations, there should actually be no more than 7 or 8,000 actual members - a tenth of the reported figure. why is GTPs membership being artificially inflated like this?

im probably gonna be hit with a big fat ban after this post, but the truth will out.

That scares me, my first name is Craig and my last name starts with a C :scared: but it's not me, AAAAHHHH!!!! i have a stalker!

Was it strictly necessary to quote an entire screenful of his post in order to make that point?

I don't really post much in GT forums anymore..

I post in Rumble Strip and sometimes the computer forums/PS2 forums.

But most of my time is geeking out on MTB stuff...

You can find around 400 posts by me on forums.mtbr.com with me surfing the Downhill/Freeride forums the most.

I'd say I'm pretty active on here... 8 posts a day I'm on I think (when i have the net that is)

You will prob find me in the Convo Forum, Rumble Strip, and F1 forums.
