Are old enough to drink, but choose not to? I was just thinking about this today because my 21st birthday is coming up in November and I have never drank any alcohol, and I dont know if I really want to. I think that beer smells bad and I dont like being around drunk people who reek of alcohol. I know that most people dont drink to get drunk, rather to be "social." So I guess I will make a poll about this just to try and get some general numbers and such. Any input on this subject is welcome 👍

I don't drink. I can't, as I start to get sick just after a couple.

If you drink, it will help your social life. Countless times, I've opted not to go out with people, because they'll be having "good time", while I'd be 100% sober. Not fun.

Um, yeah. Canada, friends, birthday in just a bit...

...I'll update later...

I simply have no desire to drink alcohol, in the same way that I have no desire to drink coffee. It’s just something that I don’t care about in the slightest.

Don't you laugh! You know exactly what I'm talking about! :D

I'll laugh! Light weight! j/k seriously though, I'm just an alcoholic when with friends (depending on how you look at it, it's a good thing that it's not often) any other time I don't touch it.

I drink good beers and am currently trying many new hard liquors. I've started to get a taste for good whiskey (Jonny Walker Black Label).

I am 20.

I'm of age. I drink. Occasionally. Once or twice a month.

I may have acquired a taste for gin during my last night of drinking - I'll have to do some experimentation with it.

I'm of the school that you can't judge something until you try it. I love alcohol, but I still hate the drunken frat-boy smelling of vomit and Bud Light. As with anything, the experience is different for everyone. There is nothing better than a good beer with good friends after a long day of work. There's nothing worse than bad beer with bad friends.

I hear ya. It's also kind of lame to show up to a party or happy hour when everyone else is already drunk.

Actually... it can be quite entertaining with the right friends if you're sober and they're all smashed making asses of themselves. What bothers me more is having to do Karaoke... I'm karaoke challenged. :grumpy:

They all like that crap too... 👎

and yes... I'm asian and so are they.

I'll be of age very soon, and I've already been drinking legally (and otherwise) for years, so I went ahead and voted for "I'm of age and drink."

Ah, yes, the good ol' drunken frat boy, drinking the worst possible stuff for all the wrong reasons.

I'm glad I was taught by my parents from a young age that beer and other drinks are meant to be enjoyed, not slammed in a race to see who can throw up the most.

I am of age and I dont drink alcohol. :)

Tried it (drinking alcohol) and I made a fool of myself. When I got drunk (only after 2 beers) I wanted to be funny. Make jokes etc... But from what I found out later, I wasn't really funny, I only thought I was. It has been yeeeeaars that I had a alcoholic beverage.

Oh, kikie. That's pretty much me. Sober. :)

Yeah, at least,we sober people know the next day what we did the previous night. And We don't feel sick the next day. ;)

Belgian beers are very strong and some off my friend drink a lot. They're so sick the next day that it ruins their entire weekend. They don't even remember certain things they did the night before. So what's the use of having fun if you don't remember it. 💡 :p

That reminds me: Don't drink and drive, guys. Too many kids these days(OK, not just these days) think it's cool that they can't remember how they got home. 👎

I am of age and I drink. I quite enjoy going out with friends for a few (Uh, a bit more than that maybe).

And I quite enjoy watching you be drunk.

I'd imagine getting drunk by yourself is very boring...
I dunno about it being boring but it can lead to doing really stupid things that I'd best not mention here.

Oh yeah and I am old enough to drink and sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.

I'm old enough but I rarely drink. I can't even remember my last beer :dunce: A Belgian beer always tastes great, but it's really something to drink everyday or a couple days a week...I'll stick with water

I am of legal age and I drink. I normally drink lager and various spirits.

I did drink when I was under the age of 18, although it was only alco-pops when I was in a nightclub. I wouldn't recommend this to any of the youngsters on this forum as I was regularly late for college due to my irresponsible behaviour.

Im of age and drink rarely. Just now and then. And when i do i dont get much past tipsy.

9/10 times i have to work the next day so i dont go to crazy.

I'm of age and use to drink atleast 2 cases a weekend, unfortuantly though since I've stopped doing drugs, thats no longer possible...and either is drinking. It doesn't matter where I am, as soon as a bottle or glass hits my lips the only thing I want next is a pill down my throat or something shooting through a straw and up my nose, and the more I drink, the worse the urges get. So I choose not to drink and save myself the troubles of going back to the way I was before.

Go soberness!

An alcoholic at 11-12 years old, I stopped getting drunk since 2000 (30 years-old). I still have a drink, every blue moon, but that's it. Just one.

I usually have a beer, but will have a White Russian, Scotch, Myers Rum, Kahlua or Cream de Menthe every once in a while. A half glass of wine is also not uncommon. I usually have a drink with, or right after, dinner.

For example, the last drink I had was about three-four weeks ago. It was a Coors.
