I realize that a lot of work goes into designing these cars and won't really mind paying for more.

How much would you pay/car?

In before the lulz. (does that count)? Anyway i think for one car it should be one dollar or at least as much as forza 3 dlc is. Anymore then that though is just being greedy.

I think there should be "Packs" like Rockband's DLC. Each pack would/should/could be 10 or 20 cars for $1-$2.

I would have to say it would depend on the car, I wouldn't pay for an ordinary car that I wouldn't use anymore being level 40 B-Spec and Level 32 A -Spec as I'm only focused on endurances now. Would probably pay for a new pack of LMP Cars that has the
Audi R18 in it, but apart from that I would only pay for a Porsche pack and a Ferrari 355, those being my two cars!

There's no option for "I wont be buying any DLC"

As it stands there's more cars than I want, more cars than I need, and more cars than I can use.

Even if you take out the hundreds of cars that have no place in a car enthusiasts game I'd still rather PD took the time and man hours to improve the gameplay in this shockingly disappointing game than waste the time trying to prise more money out of us for even more cars that I'll probably never use.

Thankfully it's looking very much like SMS have addressed this issue with Shift2 Unleashed and if the physics are as sim-like as they are claiming I would rather spend my money on a good racing sim than a mediocre driving sim that should have been better than it is after all this time in development.

If it's a standard DLC car, then I'd expect it to be free. If it's premium, £6 for a pack of 10 cars doesn't seem too unreasonable.

The only cars worth paying for would be cars that came out after the release of the game (i.e. 2011 or later models). Maybe $3 to $5 for 10-20 cars. Really would have to be "premium" cars.

If they charged to update current in-game standard cars to premium then I'd have to open a can of whoop a$$ on PD.

Why do you say that? Business is business. It'll cost time and money to make standards premium, why can't they be rewarded for their hard work?

I don't think we should pay for cars that are already in the game nor should we pay for cars that should have been premium to begin with. If it's new cars that aren't in the game than thats a different story. Maybe $5 depending on the cars and the amount of cars in the DLC.

Personally, I don't care whether it's a standard car that' being upgraded or a new car, I'd pay for both, actually. Depending on the car, I'd even prefer an upgrade over new cars :D

Now, to me, it all depends on whether we can mix and match the packs/download the cars indivdually or have to go with packs with a few cars in them, selected by PD.

If we can download the cars we want individually, I'd pay 1$ per car, no questions ask. If we've got to go with car packs, 5$ for a pack of ten cars is the what I'd be willing to pay. Simply put, I'm fairly certain that I'm going to like 50% of the cars in such a pack, at best, and I'm not very willing to spend more than a dollar on a car I want :P

I honestly wouldn't mind paying a small fee for packs of new DLC cars.

I wouldn't even mind a small fee for packs of standard cars upgraded to premium, but in this case, it would only be fair if I got to CHOOSE the cars in the pack. I really hate it when crap is lumped in with desirable things simply to be able to charge more for it. Cable and Satellite television providers are NOTORIOUS for this. :banghead:

Because that hard work should have been done while the game was in development.

You would have to be rich or stupid to pay a dollar or more per car.

You already paid $60 for 1000+ cars, plus the game engine, tracks, events, and various functionality features. A dollar per car is a pretty bad ratio.

The cars should be free. Everyone should be allowed to enjoy the same car without having to worry about real money to buy cars. That would make Gran Turismo 5 fair.

I wouldn't mind paying for a new, premium car that I like. Some "pay only" content wouldn't offend me in the slightest. I picked $3 in the poll because what I would pay would depend on the car. I'd probably pay up to $5 for something that blows my mind.

OT a bit here but question:

If the rationalization for charging for new car models is that they take work to make and thus PD should get paid for that work; then if the same models are used in future GT games, should people who bought the DLC before get a discount on said future GT game because they already paid for that work?

Yeah, because I traded in all my LPs for discounts on the same albums on CD.

(In retrospect, this isn't a very good analogy. There are lots of places where you can trade in LPs.)

Better version:

Yeah, I got a discount on a CD because I bought the same album on LP before.
