How much life should I get out of my DFGT

I recently bought a DFGT, and I'm made up with it. I've only has it a month or so, and it's seen some serious use.

Does the wheel start to get 'slack' over time, and does the FF get sloppy? Has anyone played theirs to death? I'm guessing it's a little better made than the old DFP but I hear all the gearing grinding away and I can't imagine the plastic parts can last forever.

I’m actually playing gt4 (waiting for full gt5 game) and I'm concerned that after playing gt4 for hundreds of hours, I'll end up forking out for new wheel for gt5.

Is there any kind of maintenance I should do on the wheel. I thought about using some of my fancy bicycle lubricants but I'm sure they would mix with electronics (although I heard teflon-based lubes are ok)
 
My DFGT has a 2 year warranty. I think they all do.
 
My DFP has bin played very much since gt4, I am very suprised it still works GOOD. I have abused it with gt4, Richard Burns Rally, WRC evolved, gt5p, and i played gt4 until gt5 came out. Dont know how many hours I have played on gt4, but its sure several hundreds hours. If DFGT is just as dureable, then you have nothing to worry about :)

Only thing I have had problems with is gears on wheel. upshift dont work anymore so i change down on wheel and up on stick :lol: bit odd in the start but now its totally natural..

Very good tip... :lol: Im always scared Im going to tear my wheel off when I drift... and it puts quite a bit of stress on those gears :D
 
ive had my DFGT for a little under 7 months and its been driven extremely hard and it still works perfect :) i will say that i am now upgrading to a Fanatec 911 though :p
 
Just like mr_VOLCANO, i have had my DFP since before GT4. Lots of hours on it, and the only problem has been the pedals. And that is an easy fix, so i'm guessing the DFGT will last you a long time!! The wheel is the only way to drive!!!:)👍
 
Mine crapped out on me about a month after getting it, but I think that was just a faulty unit, although I may have been a little hard on it. The new one works like a charm tho, and has seen it's share of abuse.
 
the wheel wil have plenty of life ... you wont have a life doh
 
Had my DFP since GT4 arrived and no problems with the wheel but do get an odd glitch with the pedals where the brake will apply slightly without me touching the pedal. A swift tap on the side usually sorts it out though. So if any of you guys are behind me during a race and you see my brake lights flicker on in very strange places...it's not me :crazy:
 
I spent 4 years abusing my DFP and the wheel never got slopply, the pedals got glitchy which I fixed a couple times but the DFGT's pedals are designed internally different so that wont happen again. Since have got a G25 but my DFP still behaves much like it was new.

I would expect the DFGT to last a long time.

lol i beat the ****ta outta my wheel , drifting and all , i really abuused it and it's still doing fine after a year!
it's a g25 tho
