I am just starting the process of getting my garage in order, it is kind of a daunting task. Once it is all done how often do you update yours? How much time do you spend with it?

When I started the game, I started the garage. It's much easier to add a car as soon as you get it, instead of updating at a later date. it's real easy to miss things that way.

Having restarted GT5 last week, I have been updating my garage as I buy out the UCD or receive vehicles so right now I think I spend more time updating the garage than actually driving. I'm hoping that trend changes soon.

I also use mygranturismo to avoid buying vehicles I'm going to win later anyway but that's because I'm cheap. :P

What do you mean updating?? is this not done automatically when you buy a car?

Not to my understanding. I am new to this, but I think you have to enter all of your own info for everything you own. Correct me if I am wrong, or if there is an easier way.

mygranturismo is an online database of cars, paints, parts, tickets, that you own,(incase people dont know what it is or does)
It is not in any way linked to sony or the PS3, you have to manually input all the stuff you have on gran turismo into mygt (900 cars took me 1 hr) using the laptop sat next to my PS3. I did it like this: I knew I had all the premiums so clicked the premium only tab then just wizzed through clicking everything exept the stealths & chromelines that I dont have. then onto std cars: I started at "A" on manufacturers and just worked through untill i got to V for Volvo 👍 Now to keep upto date I just printed off my "missing cars" list and over a week or so mark them off that with a highliter pen and then "update" the online garage at the end of the week 👍

I usually update it as soon as I buy a car. But if I can't, I just write down what I bought and update my list later.

Right now, my cars are up to date, but I haven't really been keeping track of my gears so they're a little off.

I can tell you one thing, if you get behind, it sucks trying to catch back up lol. I have 726 cars entered there and have 1023 cars now.:ouch: I just lose track of doing it sometimes. I will eventually get around to updating it though.

I update it every 2 or 3 weeks and somehow I still mess up on the number by 1 or 2.

I don't spend any time at all.
It takes long enough to watch the "receiving car" animation after every purchase, why I'd want to spend even more time is beyond me.

lol

That's actually the perfect time to do it.

Unless there is an auto-update, I fail to see how mygranturismo is of any use. I buy too many cars to keep track, and update:yuck:

Useful if you intend on trading off your entire garage, though:dunce:

^this^ +1000

+ 2000

I bought this game to drive...would not waste my time on such a database.

It seems like something for guys who compare sizes with the bloke next to them at the trough...:yuck:

Don't really understand why people view the site in such a negative way. Yeah, true, it is a pain in the butt when you first start updating it, but it's not so bad if you start early on.

It's really useful for seeing how many cars you have. Seriously, sometimes when I look over my page, I'm seriously astounded that I got so many different cars in the game! I also occasionally look at other people's pages to see what cars they have, just out of curiosity.

It's also good for seeing what cars, gear, paint, etc. you don't have and how many you need to complete your collection. I wouldn't even know some of the stuff in the game existed without this site. Another benefit is it's a good reference and resource for those who trade as well.

To me it seems like it is the most useful for trading cars, gear, paint, ect. Otherwise it is like playing Go Fish. But it would be nice if there was some way to sync your ps3 to that site and have it automatically keep everything updated. But that is not possible, so you have to do it maunally. No one is forced to do it. I just wanted to see how long people spend with it and how acurate they are.

Usually takes me an hour just to do my cars, because for some reason I'm always a couple off(though last night i was 4 off)

I spend none of my time updating MyGT as I have everything

beat me to it!! :dopey:

It takes me daily 15 minutes to update my garage with new cars that came in.

To the guys saying they don't use it because they have everything..
Can any of you send me Volkswagen New Beetle 2.0 `00 in Cybergreen Metallic?

Thanks!

10 mins, I mark 2 accounts open in 2 different browsers. My advice is to update as soon as you buy the cars. But if you never plan on trading cars then I wouldn't waste my time. There are tick marks now to track that. Lots of us who started using this site did so before the tick mark update. Back then it was a must if you planned on collecting every single car. Now-a-days it's only useful for trading IMO, especially for items.

I spent about 2 hours putting all my 1070 cars in it a couple days ago. :ill:

I usually update mine during the animation for receiving the car I just bought. If I don't have my notebook near by then I have a list in my Blackberry and put them in there until I can get to a computer later, again I do it during the animation. Gives me something to do while waiting for it to ask me if I want to use this car now.

Took me 3 hrs first time round. Now it hardly takes any time as I had only 3 or 4 more standards to buy. Plus that x1 prototype, 370z academy, x1 and p4. At about 1200 cars now. Easy way to track cars missing.

I always have my phone or laptop with me whenever I play GT5 so I can update live. Started my garage when I had 200 or so cars back in July, now I have 1,080. Glad I started earlier.
