I just got serious about learning the ins and outs of tuning the cars in GT4 and I was wondering how much time you guys spend tuning your cars as opposed to racing. I now find myself spending noticeably more time playing with the tuning then I do racing.

When I ran the Formula GT series for the 3rd and 4th times (link in my sig), I typically spent up to a full hour setting my car up for each race. Other cars I might have spent less than a half hour setting up in the beginning, and not felt the need to make any changes to them since.

The balance of tuning and racing isn't equal but I do spend quite a considerable amount of time finding a base setup, maybe anything up an hour and a half split between Suzuka and Nurburgring depending on the car, before doing any racing with it. Then obviously when the racing starts, provided I get the chance, I use the qualifying to do more setup (tuning) work.

I have done my fair share of tuning, so I usually have a good idea how x car should be set up for y track. Including testing, I can usually be done with a setup in less than 30 minutes.

Mokay, give me a Yellowbird at full power on S3s.

Or an Esprit at full power on R3s.

EDIT: Aimed at Green Flag.
