The young girl weighed less than a stone and a half when she died in her parents' flat in Hamburg, her skeletal corpse a pathetic bundle of skin and bones.

This is truly horrible.

She weighed 20 lbs, or 9 kilograms, depending on your choice measurement. How anyone could be this horrible is truly astounding and shocking beyond all belief. I mean, the child was reduced to eating strands of hair and carpet fluff.

This is one of the worst cases of negligence I have ever come across, if not the worst.
 
Uhhhhgggggggg, these parents must have been sick. They could have put the child up for adoption, this seems more deliberate, more hatefull.

I get angry enough when seeing someone do this to a pet.

I get absolutely flabbergasted to think someone can do this to a child. For gods sake, give the kid up for adoption. What they did was not manslaughter, it was outright murder. They purposefully denied this child a chance to live her life. This is actually worse than murder in my opinion. They didn't do it quick and brutally, they did it knowingly over all those years. They had every chance to seek a doctor, seek an adoption, seek help, or even drop the kid off on a street corner or a police station or a church. But no, they decided and stuck with a plan to starve this girl to death.

String both of them up and give a nice fat lethal injection.

Yes, I'm a bit angered over this.

No, let them die slowly. Like she did. That's just horrible, and angers me beyond belief... I can't imagine how much it hurts to starve to death. :(
 
I was eating breakfast when I read the post, and now I can't finish what I'm eating. I've lost my appetite. But it's just truly sickening to know that human beings are capable of such dispicable acts. I can't even begin to imagine what could have possibly been going through the minds of the parents that would have compelled both of them to do this.
 
I couldn't see how those people could live with themselves with that on their conscience. It's absolutely disgusting what some people do in this world, it truly is. Just punishment should be a return action of what they did, but upon themselves. But, instead of killing them, just only go up to the brink of death, and slowly ween them back onto food. Then, they'll see what it's like.

Why let them live? The little girl didn't survive, so in order for them to really know what it feels like to starve to death, they actually have to starve to death. It's the only punishment that fits this crime, but sadly I'm sure they will never be executed.
 
:indiff: Those parents are so messed up, they wouldn't get the full effect of a counter non-lethal punishment like normal people would. You mind as well just shoot them and save the taxpayer's money. Both lethal injection and prison are too expensive, uncle sam shouldn't waste a dime on those creeps.

Man .. its for people like this that I wish society would still allow for public stoning of criminals, either that or society should allow the 'eye for an eye' punishment. It is incredibly appalling that people would do that to their own children. I mean - what would have possessed them to do it?

And to top it off - this child never even saw the light of day, no one even knew she existed. Absolutely appalling - its a damn good thing I'm not the judge preceding over this trial.
 
This is the reason why we should stop giving welfare recipients more money for having more children.

Whoever, does this to their own kids should suffer the same fate as the child, or have their genitalia removed to prevent another child from suffering. That just makes me sick.

What really sickens me is the desperation the child had. Eating carpet, and yet the parents thought she was fine..? God, No punishments in this whole damn universe would fit them.
 
There's no way "the parents thought she was fine". They knew what they were doing, but there is no explanation why they would commit such a horrendous act. I mean, they were alcoholics, but I know a few alcoholics, and I could definitely say they wouldn't neglect their children to that extent.

Is the death penalty still alive in Germany?
 
Don't think so.

The death sentence has been barred in the EU for years.

I'm sure I read an article this morning about 2 children found starved in New York.
 
Her body was found on Wednesday morning after her mother, identified only as Marlies S, 35, called a doctor to the home. Her daughter had been sick, she said, and had crawled into her parents' bed, where she remained in a coma.

The call came too late. By the time the doctor arrived all that he could do was confirm that she was dead.

I've got a 12-year-old and a 9-year-old daughter myself. I literally cried at my desk when I read this. You can bet they're both getting hugs when I get home, whether they want them or not.
 
I thought being 6'1'' weighing 175lbs meant I was skinny. :/


I hope the parents of the child suffer greatly. No form of life deserves the neglect the parents bestowed upon this girl.

Considerring she weighed 9kg I think that would be pretty much impossible.

that is disgusting. they should have the same thing happen to them with people eating a big juicy hamburger infront of them the whole time just to make them suffer just a little more.

i wish i could be alone with them for 5 minutes they would wish they were dead.
 
This truly makes my blood boil. I have a 7 year old niece who I love to pieces, Reading that makes me sick. I'm speechless. Absolutely speechless. At least she's off to a better place.
