How Possible Is This?

Hey guys,
I was wondering how possible it would be for PD to set up an option on the SSR(X) tracks to have traffic. They could use some "normal" cars to populate the highway. It would really spice up the road and make the game itself more desirable. Am I being too ambitious?

Forza did that with its downhill races so I guess they could.

They wouldn't do it! It would be more NFS like and PD prefer the racing side of driving not the dangerous!

The chances of that happening is probably 0. This is Gran Turismo 5, not Need For Speed.

This is your answer 👍 .

You do know that SSR(X) is a test track? Why would there be traffic on there?

It would make more sense to have traffic on something like Special Stage Route 7, if ever they were going to do this.

for sure they can, just add some Bob´s to the track :D

They could, but they won't do it. As my foreposters said already, GT5 was made for racing, not realistic traffic driving. If you want to drive like on normal roads the only thing that comes close to that would be the "EU Laws"-lobbies on Mt. Aso and Toscana.

Not sure if im reading it wrong but I think he is asking if it would be possible and not would pd do it.

Have you guys done the AMG full lap special events? The traffic on that is much closer to cruising around than racing. I think it is
a good idea OP, people have suggested an auto populate for Nürburgring also.

I think auto-populate for the Nürburgring is as close as you are going to get.

that could be quite realistic, ai racers joining and leaving the ring

If you like this sort of thing try GRID! It's got some epic touge events on a two-way mountain road with traffic either way, super fun. At night too.

SSR7 was probably only added out of respect for the wangan/midnight tuner scene that's a big part of japanese car culture (or atleast in my opinion), so it would be brilliant to have traffic there. There's a million cars in the game so it couldn't be that hard to make the game pick some and make them drive around the track at 100 km/h.

Exactly my point. 👍

It's call Track day actually, nothing wrong about it. I'm not a fan of free roam game where you can do what you want, however having cars that are on the track is pretty cool. I loved the Nurburgring track days on FM4. Pretty cool to overtake other cars, makes you feel like you're actually on the real nurb. When I went there, the track wasnt closed to myself, we overtake cars, we got overtaken etc.. so yeah why not.

The real trackday experience at the Nurburgring! Now all they have to do is find a way to charge you 15 euros every time you want to go around the Nurburgring.

If I remeber right, they used to charge you to use the test track on gt3 or 4?
Complex String?

stage 7 i agree

To add normal cars in the way of the track would turn the GT more like Need for speed which is mainly focused on street racing with obstacles, I think PD wouldn't desire to do it regardless of possibility since it is too dangerous for real avid racers(in the game) to avoid them all on the road.

Yeah but it's a 'race' game. You don't race with normal people driving on the track. It would be really fun tho!

I think having like track days as a setting where you have a wide variety of different cars.

Why? Forza does it with the downhill races so it can be done without a comparison to nfs.

Mixed responses, BTW I live in Yokohama, the bridge on SSR7 is real. I can see it from my house :P The tunnel is real too :D And so is the racing

I'd like the option of having traffic on certain tracks, such as the Nordschleife. It would add more realism to the game, since the real-life Nordschleife is open to everyone and it would add more atmosphere to the game. They could add it as an option when selecting a track in free-run mode. 👍

You've got racing right out of your house?! :p Just Joking

But it seems like those 'fictional' tracks that PD created aren't that 'fictional'... :sly:
