Here's an explanation of how the Verification process will go for committee members, behind the scenes. First of all, when a user decides to submit a time, they will click on their "Unverified" text and it will take them to this page. After they submit that form, it will automatically create a new thread in the Verification Submissions forum. Thread creators cannot edit their posts, and members cannot reply to other user's threads. Only you (committee members) and the thread starters (and mods, of course) can reply to threads there. This forum is also hidden for the moment so you'll need to keep an eye on it (try subscribing to it) to check up for new posts. I may move it to a better location later but I don't have time to think about that right now.

So, once you've found a new time to be verified, contact them either by email or by post (whichever you feel comfortable with), with instructions on how you would prefer for them to send you their data. Thier options are to either send you a Sharkport/Xport/Max Drive save file or for them to mail you their memory card. I don't know how large those save files are - so I don't know if they'll be able to attach them to their posts or not. Hopefully, they can as that would eliminate some emails for you guys. Then, once you have them approved, send me an email at jgreer@gtplanet.net, with simply "Time Verified" as the subject line and the body only containing a link to the time entry. That's all I need.

I had to type this up very quickly as I have a lot to do, but if I've left anything out or if anything is unclear please let me know and I will do my best to explain.

Also, I can set it up where you are notified by email when someone submits a time to be verified. If you'd like to be notified, please reply to this post with the email address you would like to be contacted at and I will add you to the list.

Can .xps, .sps and/or .max files be attached to PM's? This might be a good way to secure replays backchannel from queried drivers...

Not really a way to do that. They'd have to upload it and PM the link to one of the verification committee. One way we might be able to do that and keep it simpler, is create an e-mail address "verify@gtplanet.net" that You/Mr. P/Kent or I can download and review it. It could then be uploaded by one of us to this forum and we can post our concerns and call it "in or out".

Not sure how to handle this part of it. Any thoughts?

Am I taking 14 steps when 2 would suffice?

Thanks,

AO

Hmmm, yet another thread which I seem to have overlooked. :dopey: Sorry, guys. Anyway, this is one reason we've got the Verification threads. They can attach these replay files to their own threads in the posts, and anyone would be able to review them. So, feel free to ask them to attach the file there.
