How to backup GT5 Save-Data?

Hi guys, I have been trying to backup my GT5 save-data (aka save-game) but every time I got to the Saved Data Utility (I think its called that) and try to copy it onto my memory stick it says that it is prohibited. I have been trying it for quite some time, even with another memory stick, but to no success.

Could someone please give me detailed instructions as to how I can correctly backup my save-data. Thanks in advance. 👍

P.S. I have not updated my game at all. It is still running on the original version with absolutely no updates.

You need to update it in order to copy your save data.

You will have to update the game I think. They put a later update allowing you to backup your save.

No, I'm running it trough a Jail-Break dongle, unless using a dongle is considered as using custom firmware.

I would just bring your ps3 to someone's place that has a decent internet connection and update the game that way. You have a friend who has internet and a ps3 who might let you use his/her internet connection for a while to update yours?

Pay money to PSN then you can backup your savedata on your PSN

I feel like a complete dummy....I just lost all my game data Level 36 A-Spec Level 40 B-spec...I am crushed! I still have the trophies but no cars or licences. I thought (foolishly I admit) that the game data was with the trophies... My Fat60 smoked up burned up the mother board when power suppy failed in middle of a race the screen goes black wheel goes dead unrecoverable..so I bought a new 160 slim installed a fan control and installed my 500 GB drive and found out the bad news new system needs to reformat the drive and wipes out all data....Back it up online!!!
