How to backup my PS3?

Hi, so its a bit tricky, i bought a seagate 500GB external hard drive, but it came in NTFS, and i tried to format it to FAT32(the only reconizable system file) by Ps3, but when i tried it mt PC only gave me this options exFAT and NTFS.
I tried both but my PS3 still don't recognize it.

What can i do to make my External Hard drive become FAT32 and make it readable by PS3?

Please help me.

Make a Linux Live CD. Plug the drive into your computer after you boot Linux, and format it from the drive manager tool.

Alternatively (if you have Windows XP), download SwissKnife.

I don't own any of those, i have a windows Vista, and i tried F: /FS:FAT32, but it doesn't acept that comand, i'm trying now discwizard by seagate, but its kinda hard to convert it.

Any other sugestions?
