How to better weight transfer without snap oversteer?

The only way I can remotely drift in this game is if I'm about to snap oversteer, no matter how hard I try, no matter how what setting I have, it sucks completely

Does anybody know how to make the car shift the weight to the front, because I cannot brake drift worth crap in this game, all I get is understeer.

I'm used to drifting in the Genki's Kaido Battle series, where it is much easier to control.

Again any suggestions, cause I'm either getting snap oversteer or horrible understeer when I try to drift.

Use tires with less grip such as N3 or N2. They understeer a little more sometimes, but mostly they let you oversteer fairly easy. Also, try a MR layout car as they turn better. Try an MR2 with around 300-350 hp without a wing, and that car will oversteer from just turning, it acually is hard to control sometimes because its unstable.

Using demon camber (+6) at the rear will surely remove snap oversteer, because it keep oversteering no matter what you do :P.

using lower rear damper, or higher rear stabilizer will keep the rear steady but can make it snap too. use higher spring to get faster weight transfer and less snap.

Brake and deceleration LSD tuning is important if you start drift using brake.
initial LSD is important if you start drift using throttle lift off.
acceleration LSD is important if you start drifting using pedal to the metal technique ;).
damper and stabilizer tuning is important if you drift using feint.

Sustaining drift is another matter ................

I Drift fine without LSD, I don't think this is your problem. Though it may help.

Suspension is your aspect aswell as Brake controller settings. Keeping in mind, your using N2, N3 tyres, No Aids and around 350HP. (FR car)

Damper settings, Bound and Rebound are going to be the main keys of ridding the snap oversteer problem. And a rough estimate of 3/13 on your brake controller settings will be a help to your brake drifting issues, Assuming your suspension settings are up to scratch. Someone with much more knowledge can fill this one in, as im hopeless... I really don't know what im talking about :(

Though it might be advisable to check out our drift settings depot for some Good settings. It'll be a place to start before fiddling around with your own settings.

Good Luck 👍

The two things I think are the main causes of snappiness are
- Initial LSD
- Front Stabilizer

Keep those low for a more easy, sluggish feel. Tighten them up for snappier, tighter response.

if by snap oversteer you mean feinting. well thats how most people do it. sometimes its a subtle feint and other times the whole car makes an obvious motion. lifting off a bit before turn in... there are tons of techniques and tuning already discussed. i mean gt4 has been out a looong time.

i think you mean -6 .... no one would ever had +6 camber no matter where you are, it does nothing to your handling besides destroy it

I think he means the snap that occurs at the end of the drift when you try to re align the car to the track.Well, i have been having the same problem, and i tried to work with it, i think a wing, and maybe the body re enforcement may help a little, but learning how to control it is major thing to do.

Settings?May help, but i have been drifting a lot without any special settings(some may calm me stupid, but i have been drifting with no lsd, no break control, spring rate all the way down, and the ride weight down aswell, and that's all) and i got used to it, and i can't work with any settings posted at this board.
So, find your own style to drift.

Hope it helps.

oops yes :), camber suppose to be be negative.

That's too much body roll, tweak suspension to reduce it. roll cage and body refresher plan if needed.

you can increase your drifting skill faster by making it harder to drift ;). I think it's more fun drifting hard to tune car than drifting out of the box drifter.
