Im so pissed, Right now i felt i was worst go kart driver ever. Seriously, I always spin out for some reasons! and always tend to apply full pressure on brakes, as if i was running 300kph++ also im aggressive on kerbs so much and throttle because i always want to eat those kerbs and hear the tires crumbling around! and its because i develop this habit of too much driving LMP and f1! shame on me! All this angerness and stress have already been passed on my steering wheel, because i almost destoryed the shifter because of this feeling...

Kart's driving style is completely different:

Rule no.1: DO NOT turn the steering wheel more than 20-30 degrees even in the most tight hairpin - it's more than enough to turn the kart as it has razor sharp turning due to the short wheelbase.

Rule no.2: DO NOT press the brakes suddenly, but rather progressively and ONLY half way through.

Rule no.3: DO NOT ride the kerbs. Karts do not have suspension to absorb them so 99% you will simply go spinning.

Follow the above and enjoy them - they are really fun!!!

Read the games instructions... only brake in a straight line before the turn, then accelerate around it at a steady speed. The acceleration is what keeps the grip.

the karts are very touchy and u have to remember they dont handle the same as a car. i used to spin out alot because i would try to run on the curbs a little.

I golded every Kart race and never touched the brake. I coasted every turn....

Yep This. Much better off using throttle control rather than braking. The same technique works quite well with the one gear hybrids as well.

Great. I will take this in consideration for myself.

I have won all the levels except the one that requires you to drift the corners. I sucked big time here. I tried the coasting method here just as I did with the other levels but the A.I. is to fast for it. I gave up.

The only one that gave me trouble was the last one, I think it is Autumn Ring?

Took me a few tries, what finally helped was I started wide and let off the gas way before the AI, The AI may pass you heading in but you'll get back on the gas a lot sooner and smoke them coming out...

The trick for the 2d advanced karting event is to never let go of the gas, and brake while still pressing on the gas pedal. (I know, in reality, this is bad for the engine but hey, this is just a game and your kart engines don't get damaged anyway.) Do this and the karting event will be a cakewalk.

what i learned at my local kart track in high school...

"the fastest drivers here never use their brakes."

I find the karts very easy. Can't even remember using the brakes, as the speed quickly scrubs off when cornering.

This is very weird but, the more i drove the red bull x2010 the more i become a bad driver on go kart. its just me? or is it the x2010?. screw you adrian newey, the temptation to drive your machine is hard to resist!

So lets face it, If a im really worst go kart driver ever. That means, i can be a race driver but not that great and more "below the par".

I used the coasting method and beat the Tokyo Bay advanced course. If it helps anyone, here are the spots where I let off the accelerator. I was full out for the rest of the course.

I will post another when I figure out how to do the Autumn Ring Mini

I just golded advanced at Autumn Ring. Here's what I did:

-change the transmission to 81 mph (one notch from maximum) so I could get more of a fast start

-followed the rumble strips instead of the driving line or the other karts

-tried as much as possible to do big unchanging arcs without adjusting steering- like zipping through a couple corners on one big unvarying curve.

It's all about that first hairpin, and ducking to the left a bit so you can get near the entry and exit rumblestrips as well as the apex. Just hugging the apex is NO GOOD because you can't slow down that much. The whole thing has to be about traversing the entire track, and you sort of learn it gradually. No brakes, just feathering the throttle some of the time like in the second corner.

I led the second place kart by at least two seconds even though I hit the rev limiter sometimes. It's all about the super wide line. The rumble strips show you what that is, the driving line totally fails to show it.
