I would like to know how to capture video via firewire to a DV camera. In Andrew Mackrodt's thread, Ps2 DivX Compression Guide, he states that there are many different ways of capturing video and that one of them was by utilizing a dv camera via firewire to capture video.
By a TV card, by your graphics card and by Digital Video (DVCam - via Firewire), these are just some examples which I know of.

I have all of the hardware, just no way to do it. I hooked my PS2 right up to my computer once, but it didn't reconize it. How would a DV camera be able to extract video from the PS2? Would it require a modchip and after market software?

Thanks for any help, and thanks to Andrew Mackrodt for posting the Compression Guide 👍

You would connect your PS2 to your digital video camera and record on to it. Then you would transfer the video through the firewire to your hard drive.

It is best to use a video capture device such as a TV tuner or graphics card to connect your PS2 to and record from there using software such as VirtualDub.
