How to change my Icon

I have been trying to change my Icon from the smiley face to something else. But I can't seem to find out how it is done. The people in my friends list have all kinds of different pictures. Can some one explain how this done and where to find the pics.

I don't know about the smiley face but to change your avatar or your profile picture just go up to My GTPlanet in the yellow rectangle up there at the top of the forum, then when you're there just click Edit Avatar and Edit Profile picture. In Edit Avatar there's a huge list of pictures to chose from

Whoops, my bad

Just go to Account Management under PlayStation Network and there should be something about editing avatar under Account Information/Settings 👍
