how to complete class B

I realise alot of you will wonder can this lad drive or what ? But I need advise on how to complete class B, in the type-r finish 1-3 over 1 lap. I whizzed through all the other events no problem, but got to this challenge to finish in a place within 1 lap, and just can't do it. There is not enough track in 1 lap to get me up to 1-3rd position. The best I have managed so far is 5th and that's by bundling my way through bouncing off other cars. Is it just me or have any others struggled with this course. Any tips on how to shift my type-r past the opponents would be appreciated, as I only need this one to get to class A
 
No big problems here, if you are driving the racing line and braking in time you should be there or there abouts. What you definitely need to do is get into the slip stream of the cars you want to overtake. The more time you get into the slip stream the more rapidly you accelerate and the quicker you go!

So, accurate driving
accurate braking
slipstream

What are you using?
 
This is not to hard if you pass on the inside.
1. Slipstream or "draft" cars in front.
2. Pass on inside.
3. you only need to lift of the gas slightly and not hit the brake at the red sections.
4. Corner entry 2nd turn is best if you start high above the blue line and turn in a little early and aim for the bottom of the track. Should be doing about 250 kmh here.
5. Draft cars 1 and 2 into the final curve flat out at about 260 to 265 kmh and pass at the first white line.

If you mess up keep going and finish as it gives good practice.

I managed this license test with "silver" (second place) but only a few inches behind the Mini ! Could really be possible to do this one in gold !!

Did it this way: Driving Setup on "Standard"

First a good slipstream and full throttle until the first real left corner. Then braking (too !!!) late overtaking the Focus on the inside and using the following compact car for braking (sometimes you can "lean" on that car without being too unfair), then immediatly taking the slipstream from the next two cars (which normaly drive side-by-side and change from the right side to the left side / middle of the track. By braking late you can easily overtake these two cars without getting into any trouble in the following right/left S-curve-combination.

The next two cars normaly leave the track already on the entrance of the Combination. The Problem is: They come back !!! And they do that mostly, when i am exactly side-by-side with them. The best that can happen is the following: The first car crosses the line exactly in Front of my Car and the other car is already behind me crossing the line. Then this should not have any affect on my driving.

As already said, the exit of the corner is the most important point of the test. Early on the throttle, then drifting wide to the outside (gras is possible and no problem) and then immediatly taking the slipstream from the Delta Integrale. When exiting the tunnel you should be overtaking the Lancia. (by the way: You can easily overtake here on the inside (!!!!) with the complete Integra on the curbs. Maybe this is also the best line for the following banking left corner)

On the banking you should stay outside and overtake the VW Golf. Then again pretty early on the throttle and using the slipstream of the next car (i think it´s a Clio V6 !?!?).

Managed lots of second places yesterday, but didn´t get first !

The key-Positions for this tests are the tight first left (with the focus) and the exit of the s-combination !
